"Lilith Dirora, you have been arrested for murder," said a man standing to the right of the emperor.
"She was protecting the family," the commander commented. His blond hair shone under the sunlight.
"But she killed more than ten assassins in her room, and it wasn't even visible because they were cut into pieces!"
"If someone wanted to eat them, I was just making it easier," I joked, making everyone uncomfortable. I giggled at their unease.
"Your Majesty, this woman is pure evil," that guy sounded genuinely scared.
"I'm Satan's relative—of course I'm pure evil."
"My lady, is that supposed to be a joke?" the commander asked, his gaze meeting mine.
"No, I'm not joking."
"Your Majesty, this girl has to be executed!"
"Oh no, please don't," I mocked dramatically, mimicking one of the people I killed before falling into this world.
"Enough." The emperor's dominant voice silenced everyone, even the nobles watching from behind me.
"Lilith Dirora, from now on, you will be taught by a mage how to use your magic, and by Commander Leonard how to wield a sword properly in battle. I will let what happened that night go, since you saved the Marquess' family and the maids—but you'd better watch your behavior until you complete your training."
The emperor's decision drew frowns from everyone. I turned my head to look at the commander standing beside me.
He was smiling brightly. His green eyes looked beautiful—a perfect match with his blond hair.
"Are you Commander Leonard?"
"That's right," he replied, looking at me.
I was the same height as him, around 5'9".
"You're short," I commented.
"That makes you short too."
"Oh... I didn't think of that part."
