With the added strength of the rest of the team, clearing the next few floors was a breeze. By the time the group reached the final floor of the first female dorm, most of the unevolved were already at level six.
The most noticeable were the twin sisters whose names were Liora and Oriana. It seemed like the near-death experience and the helplessness they felt had a large impact on them. As they grew stronger, the sudden change in their emotion became more prevalent and noticeable.
Liora was the quiet uncaring one, with only eyes for her goals, while Oriana was more of the cheerful one, ready to become friends with everyone.
Their strength was more than an average unevolved. And with their added strength and will to get stronger, killing nulls and reaching the final floor wasn't very hard.
At that moment, the group had finally reached the final floor.
Unlike previous floors, this floor was teeming with nulls. As their feet stepped on the floor, multiple vines with different elemental attributes were shot towards them.
Seeing the nulls, a thought entered Zayden's mouth.
"You guys handle the nulls here, we'll fight the boss of the dorm"
With the instruction given, Zayden, Aiden and Amara headed to where the strongest energy was coming from.
Meanwhile, a cheerful smile had already appeared on the face of Oriana. This much null was enough to get her level up by at least a few.
"Let's do this"
Her cheerful voice reached the ears of everyone as she rushed into the sea of nulls along with her sister Liora.
But they weren't the only ones. Rushing closely behind them were the rest of the unevolved.
There was no fear of nulls anymore, after fighting and killing nulls for a few hours, or seeing how easily Zayden had killed nulls, their apprehension had decreased and their want for power increased.
After all, who didn't want superpowers?
So now, these nulls were no longer seen as threatening monsters, but more like EXP, their ticket to their fantasy dreams.
And with that, they fought the null, or rather beat the nulls unto the back foot. It is important to remember that these nulls were more than five to six levels higher than most of the unevolved.
Meanwhile, in the heart of the dorm, Zayden and his group were having a stare-down with the boss of this particular dorm.
The null was ugly as f*ck. It had a female figure; it was female before it lost its soul. And from its back were three vines.
Each of these vines represented one element, fire, water and earth.
Immediately, the trio appeared in front of it, and it latched onto their life force, a malicious expression on its face.
"F... Food"
Zayden was shocked.
Not only he, but the rest of the team were shocked. The null just spoke to them.
Unlike the rest of the team, Zayden's was more of pure confusion. In his memories, nothing like this ever happened, none of the nulls had become strong enough to gain any form of sentience, whether limited or not.
This was a massive shock to Zayden.
But the null didn't care about their shock as it sent its vines at them, at unimaginable speeds.
Zayden was quickly awakened from his stupor quickly blocking the attack that came towards him. To his surprise once again, the strength of the null was beyond what an entity of its level should have.
[Level 19 Withered Multi Elemental Vine Null]
He checked the level of the null just to be sure. This null was weaker than the umbra serpent, but Zayden had a feeling that this battle wasn't going to be normal.
Despite blocking the attack, Zayden was still pushed back a few meters, crashing into the wall where he was held in place by the vine, the scorching heat that came from the vine burning into his skin.
His hands suddenly felt numb and the thorned flaming fine snaked up his hand before coiling around his neck.
The vine kept twisting and twisting around his neck. Zayden could feel his oxygen and life force draining away slowly.
He struggled to turn his head. And he could see the remaining two in the same situation as him. Amara was facing the aqua vine, the weight of the water was stronger than usual. And Aiden was facing the earth null, with the same problem as Amara.
Pumping oblivion flux with the trait of darkness, Zayden quickly activated the dark spike skill.
Now, as explained in previous chapters, the con of the dark spike skill was that it took a lot of time to activate, and if the null with its limited sentience noticed Zayden activating the skill, it wouldn't let him finish the skill.
Now, what had Zayden decided to do to circumvent that?... Pump more oblivion flux into the skill.
And fortunately for him, it worked. In less than two seconds, the dark spike was formed in his hand, but it took up more than fifty percent of his available energy.
At this point, the null had noticed the energy of the spike, and it was obvious that it didn't like it. It was repelling its energy.
But Zayden didn't care, he arched his arm and swung out, releasing the dark spike at the null.
The null stood for darkness, and a spike made of the majority of darkness was coming towards it; of course, it should repel...
Nothing can overshadow the laws of the world. And the laws of this world followed physics.
The dark spike arched in the air and into the head of the null.
The spike thanks to the oblivion flux melted into liquid at seeped into the head of the null.
Zayden and the duo were released from the vines of the null as stillness prevailed in the surroundings.
But Zayden didn't care; this was the only chance that he had to do damage to the null, so he charged at the null, the rare sword, kindle, coated with oblivion flux that had properties of darkness.
The oblivion flux in the head of the null was wreaking havoc, so it had no chance to react to Zayden's attack, or so he thought.
"SHRIEK!!!"
As soon as Zayden was a few meters away from the null, a loud shriek assaulted his ears. This was abnormal because nulls were supposed to be unable to articulate. Well, that had already been proven wrong by this null, so nothing was impossible any more.
The vine of the null started swaying about, bringing destruction to the environment. Zayden had to take the full brunt of the attacks without any chance of escape.
The null didn't seem to notice Zayden as it was smashing about in pain. Not even its fellow null were exempted from the destruction.
It suddenly stopped.
There were multiple injuries on the unevolved on this floor; the foundations of the building were cracked, and it seemed like the building would collapse at any moment.
"Annoying"
Everyone heard it; it was neither male, nor female, nor young, nor old. It was like an amalgamation of groans, shrieks, roars, and moans, but surprisingly, everyone was able to understand what was said.
Zayden turned his head to look at the null, the source of this sound.
The null had changed. A deep purple light emerged from its eyes. Something abnormal, something that Zayden was sure didn't belong to the null originally.
His spatial ring suddenly started shaking violently, it was hot as if something inside wanted to escape.
And without his permission, a crystal marble appeared in front of him. It was swirling with purple energy and was shaking violently, but it just floated there.
There was confusion on the face of Zayden because he did not know a situation like this occurred. But there was no one to answer his question or clear his doubt.
To his surprise, two more marbles just like his appeared, shooting out from the rings that Aiden and Amara wore, but it didn't stop there.
Marbles flew in front of them in flashes of purple, amounting to about six.
Zayden shock was obvious.
"Do you know what those marbles do?"
He asked them not expecting an answer from them and just like he thought, they didn't know.
But this went from bad to worse.
In a flash of purple, four more nulls appeared.
The trio initially took fighting stances, ready to battle them even at a disadvantage, but nothing like that happened.
The glass marbles broke open and the swirling mass of purple in them came out. Everyone could feel the power coming from them. But Zayden could feel some sort of familiarity.
The mass of purple swirled around the five nulls pulling them together. Before long, a purple tube was formed and it shot into the sky like a ray of light.
Nobody knew what was happening, but what they could feel was that if what was happening in that tube was successful, they would be unable to face what might come out of it.
