Chapter 42 - Forming A Law Neiden

The phantom warlock had thrown all caution to the wind. As a constellation, using his stronger powers to bully weaker entities was already a taboo, but what made it worse was that most of them were contracted to famous constellations.

So he knew that even if he didn't manage to kill Zayden, he would still face severe consequences when it went back.

It had already steeled his heart to face whatever may come his way then, but now he needed to kill Zayden.

He decided to tap into his hidden power. He knew that if he did this, the vessel he was in might not be able to handle the power surge, and the world would react, but he didn't care anymore. He was going to kill Zayden no matter what.

"Boom!"

The phantom warlock rose into the air, the aura around it increasing. Cracks began to appear on his skin as his power surged. But that wasn't all.

Suddenly, a golden chain materialised in the air beside him. It amounted to about four, and at the end of each chain were sickles. The gaze of the phantom warlock flickered as he felt the energy that the sickles were releasing.

Of course, he knew what was happening; the world was taking action. The power that he was about to release was above the threshold of what the world could take so it needed to do something to save itself.

In the blink of an eye, the chains stabbed into the shoulder blades of the phantom warlock, making him grimace in pain, while the other end of the sickle stabbed into the palms of the warlock.

The phantom warlock felt the searing heat of the chains and he frowned.

'This was more than I expected'

He knew that the world wouldn't just let him use powers that could destroy him, but he didn't know that the restrictions would be this much. And this was only from one of the chains, truly alarming.

The second chain stabbed into his left shoulder blade and bound his arm before stabbing into the palm. The remaining two sickle chains bound the legs of the phantom warlock.

'My time here had been reduced by a lot, But ten minutes should be enough to kill him'

The gaze of the phantom warlock landed on Zayden. Even though he didn't have his full strength and was still restricted, fighting Zayden with about seventy percent of his strength should be enough to kill him.

He could see Zayden sitting cross-legged on the ground, his eyes closed, and a dark aura coming off his body.

"Boom!"

Without a moment's notice, he kicked against the air, the sound barrier broken by a slight exertion of his body force, and flew towards the meditating Zayden at inconceivable speed for normal people.

Well, the rest of the the team couldn't see him, but they had already moved before he moved, standing in front of Zayden ready to protect him.

Before the warlock could meet Zayden, his head was smashed in by an axe, with strength that a human whether evolved or unevolved was supposed to have.

He landed nimbly on his feet and turned to his attacker, only to see a seven-foot-tall, bulky, shirtless man with red hair, eyes and long black horns spiralling up his head.

"You are not human"

The Phantom Warlock said, surprised that somebody had already changed his race this early into the evolution of the planet.

"Oh, you noticed, I am a minitour chosen of Taurus, and I won't let you harm us!!"

Darian roared and charged at the constellation, his bullish charge already activated, a red aura covering his body.

Now, most of us might be confused, but during the null horde, Darian drank the blood of Taurus... well, not the blood, but the diluted essence of Taurus. This essence was so strong that his race was changed.

He became something akin to the combination of a human and a bull, the legendary monster of Greek mythology, the Minitour.

This race change brought about an increase in his strength and defence at the expense of his agility. One punch of his easily able to break a boulder.

The Phantom Warlock, of course, noticed this, but he didn't have time to face Darian; he needed to kill Zayden.

With a wave of his hand, cosmic energy gathered around him, and a large mass of purple came out, forming swords that floated over his head. With a wave of his hand, the swords were sent towards Darian, the speed of their flight breaking the sound barrier.

Darian's eyes widened, but a smirk quickly formed on his face,

"Come at me"

Darian roared as he swung his sword down, making contact with one of the swords. With a loud boom, he was sent crashing into one of the dorms, the power so strong that the building collapsed, releasing dust and debris everywhere.

"Darian!!"

The eyes of everyone on the team widened. Darian's life or death was unknown.

The eyes of the Warlock constricted as he jumped from where he was standing. Almost immediately, a horrifying bolt of golden lightning struck down on his previous location, forming a crater.

"Die for me"

Tyrel's eyes were red from fury as bolts of golden lightning started following the Warlock, threatening to kill him if he relaxed for a little bit.

It was at this point that the warlock felt something. It was a very slight feeling at the base of his neck, and easily missable if it was anyone else. But he was a constellation with immaculate control over his body so he noticed it immediately.

But even his godlike reaction speed was too slow.

"Neuro Sync Pulse"

It was like a slight pulse of electricity that affected his whole body, and he knew what was happening, he was unable to move his body anymore.

At this point in time, a strike of golden electricity fell on him, the power shocking. As if that was not enough, multiple attacks came towards the constellation, from ice lances to fury fists, energy blasts, golden arcs of holy energy and more.

They hit the constellation, and a small mushroom cloud was formed.

"Enough!!"

The amalgamation of voices of the Phantom Warlock boomed as his aura towered. The time he had to stay here was limited, but these people were wasting it with attacks that did no real damage.

The golden chains on its body shone brighter as the world was doing all it could to seal the power of the constellation.

At this point, five minutes out of the initial ten minutes had passed.

****

Five minutes ago...

"I need to form my neiden"

Zayden quickly called Tyrel to him.

"I know this going to be hard, but could you guys hold back the constellation for a few minutes, I need to do something"

Tyrel gave Zayden a toothy smile.

"No problem, I need to give this constellation a beating"

Getting assurance from Tyrel, Zayden sat cross-legged on the floor and began to activate his neiden formation technique.

The power shard of the Umbra serpent was with him, teeming with dark energy. A law Neiden was concentrated law energy that took root in the body of an individual. It was a small part of the body, maybe the diameter of a toenail, that holds all the user's law comprehension.

Once a person forms said Neiden, their strength and control his risen by several folds.

This was what Zayden was betting on.

With his mind calm, Zayden began to perform the law neiden formation technique. The first part of the technique was for a person to select a part of the body to form the neiden.

It could be an organ or a limb, but it had to be important. Zayden had no problem with this and randomly chose the Neiden to be formed in his left palm.

The next part of the technique was to cut off some flesh and infuse it with a massive amount of said law and the user's comprehension of said law. This was why having a large source of the law energy was important and the power shard of the Umbra serpent was just right.

Zayden closed his eyes, beads of sweat falling down his forehead.

Using his oblivion flux, he cut a small part of the flesh, surprisingly round like a bead. It was excruciatingly painful, but Zayden could bear it; after all, he had experienced worse pain when his soul almost shattered in the world of the constellations.

In about five minutes, he was done. Now, the final part was to put in the law energy.

The first thing he did was to absorb the energy of the power shard, turning it to dust, before directing it to his palm.

He then needed to compress it, making it small and saturated enough to enter the mass of flesh.

This was the part of the formation that decided the tier and Zayden didn't...
