The physical representation of the Phantom Warlock appeared in front of the constellation, and he could feel himself sweating under the scrutinising gaze of these major constellations.
"So you are the one who wants to kill my chosen?"
Zeus's cold voice reached his ears. he could feel the anger, even though there was no change in the expression on Zeus's face.
But what he couldn't understand was why they were so particular about this set of contractors. Constellations had millions upon millions of contractors in the galaxy, so for them to be so protective of these mortals meant that something was happening.
But the Phantom Warlock had no right to ask a question; he just had his head bowed as the major constellations looked at him, the hatred for Zayden in his heart growing.
"What do you have to say for yourself?"
Neurox's intriguing gaze landed on the Phantom Warlock, but the Phantom Warlock had nothing to say.
'I can't tell them that it's because I was unable to get the planet, I shouldn't even be thinking about that planet with all these big potatoes eying it'
The Phantom Warlock's silence seemed to anger them, as shown by the slight crease in the eyebrows of Skadi.
Now, one might be thinking, why were the rest of the constellations afraid of these particular four?, After all, they were all constellations
Well, everything came down to strength.
Just like other entities, there was a hierarchy among constellations shown mainly by the ranks of the constellations.
And there were three known ranks of constellations. Minor constellation, defined by the number of stars that comprise it, which is a maximum of twenty-seven. They were the lowest in the constellation ranks, but they were still marginally stronger than mortals.
The next were the Major Constellations defined by the number of stars that comprise it, which was a maximum of fifty-four stars. Though this was just an immediate increase in ranks, the strength of the major constellations was unimaginably strong.
Like the distance was abyssal. With a flick of a finger, major constellations could erase minor constellations, which just showed how strong they were.
The final known constellations were the Supreme Constellations, defined by eighty-one stars that comprise them. Their strengths need not be explained. But it was very hard to see the supreme constellations, and most of the time, they don't even form contracts.
Now, why was this important to the story at the moment?
That was because all four constellations standing in front of the Phantom Warlock constellation, which was only at the peak of the minor rank, were supreme constellations.
Even though they were still at the beginning, they still had abysmal strength contained within, to the point that just the breath of air from them could cause a star to chatter and could erase a minor constellation from existence.
Most minor constellations would not even get the chance to see one of them for all eternity, but now, four of them had appeared in front of the Phantom Warlock, and from the expressions on their face, they weren't happy.
"We should erase him, if not, he will give our chosen multiple problems"
Skadi's ice-cold voice caused the Phantom Warlock to shiver; he knew that there was no getting out of this one.
Contemplation appeared in the eyes of the remaining three constellations. That planet was very important to them, and if this minor constellation killed their chosen, it would be very bad for them.
Even now, they could feel the hatred oozing off the Phantom Warlock.
So it was better for them to take care of the problem at the root. Now, the thing was that it was hard to erase a constellation without a good reason, and even they, as the supreme constellation, would have to answer to the higher authority if they did something like that.
Now, they were stumped.
A calculating expression appeared on the face of Neurox for a few seconds before a large grin appeared on his face.
"We can't kill him, but we can use him"
The three constellations turned to him, even the phantom warlock was curious. At least, there was a way that he could be saved; he would take it.
"What do you propose?"
Zeus's curious eyes landed on the constellation of technology.
"Well, we saw that those kids did well against him, well enough to hold him off in time for his energy to be depleted"
"Now, we mustn't forget that even though he is low-ranked and weak, he is still a constellation, and he is more than a few stages stronger than they. So why don't we use him to increase their growth rate?"
He turned to the Phantom Warlock with a smile.
"From time to time, he could go to the planet to attack them, forcing them to become stronger faster to defeat him"
"Using him as a whetstone"
Skadi was intrigued.
The Phantom Warlock was stunned. These constellations wanted to use him to train those humans from the incomplete planet. he thought he would do anything to survive today, but such a thought never came into his mind.
He suddenly felt a sense of regret; if only he hadn't been so rash and petty, he wouldn't have found himself in such a situation. It was a disgrace.
He was a constellation, basically a god to the lower beings, but now, he was to be used as a training dummy for those same lower beings. He wanted to protest, anything but this, but he didn't dare to say anything.
Everyone was happy with the suggestion from Neurox
Such a thought had not even entered their minds, but now that they thought about it, it was fitting.
"A constellation being a training dummy for mortals. Haha... truly intriguing"
Hades spoke for the first time, his raspy voice carrying power.
"Do you object?" he added
The Phantom Warlock wanted to, but he didn't dare to. He gritted his teeth and just nodded his head in affirmation, but his eyes glowed with hatred; this was something he wasn't going to forget for all eternity.
The four constellations smiled. This was better than they had imagined. Those mortals getting stronger was also a good thing for them.
"Now you've got your mission, train them well, but you should know how to regulate your powers so their deaths shouldn't be related to you"
Zeus said.
The Phantom Warlock nodded his head, his hatred growing.
"But I still think you need a punishment"
Skadi said, her cold eyes staring at the Phantom Warlock.
The Phantom Warlock was annoyed, but there was nothing he could say.
'Wasn't training humans already enough of a punishment?'
Skadi ignored the feeling of the phantom warlock and slowly raised her hand into the air.
Cosmic energy rushed towards her hand like a tsunami, the wave of pure energy could cause natural disasters in planet earth.
The cosmic energy gathered near her hand and before long, a small deep blue ball appeared in her hands. It was small, like a speck of dust in the vast expanse of space.
But the energy coming off the speck of dust was alarming. Alarming was an understatement.
Space twisted around that spec of dust, testament to the power contained in it.
Just the presence of the spec of dust could cause genocide on a planet.
But Skadi just created it on a whim, and it didn't even seem to be her strongest skill.
Seeing this attack, the eyes of the Phantom Warlock widened. Even he could feel the power coming of the spec of dust and he was sure that he would be unable to survive if the attack touched him.
'And she calls this a small punishment'
He could only imagine her strong her skill would be when she was determined to punich someone with a big punishment.
Without batting an eyelid, the attack flew out from the finger of the constellation, flying at unimaginable speeds.
It was like a blue star blue shooting star, beautiful, but with unimaginable power and destructive force.
The attact went past the Phantom Warlock and Unto the main Constellation.
In the blink of an eye, it made contact with one of the twenty stars that made up the constellation.
And like a virus spreading, it slowly froze the star.
Yes, the star, what was suppose to me a mass of unbelievable heat was frozen by an attack from Skadin.
The Phantom Warlock was wide eyes when he saw one of his stars being frozen.
The gigantic iceball suddenly cracked open, becoming one of the many asteroids in the large expanse of space.
The face of the Phantom Warlock became pale from shock, anger and deep hatred. For the supreme constellation, and for the kids that put him in such a situation.
Skadi blew some air on her finger as if removing dirt.
"We're done here"
She spoke as if freezing a star wasn't a big deal.
"Remember to train them well"
With that said, the four supreme constellations disappeared leaving an angry and hate filled Phantom Warlock to face the ridicule of his fellow constellation.
