Ian cocked a brow. Well, that just made things a whole lot more interesting. So he wasn't just a whiny human hiding under his father's shielding?
"Okay," he responded.
Diana furrowed her brows. "Okay? Just okay?"
He turned to look at her. "What do you mean?"
"It's the mafia, Ian. That makes him a whole lot more dangerous."
"Hm, let me get this straight. Are you scared of him?" He folded his arms. "No wait, you are scared of him, I can smell it all over you."
Her hands clenched. "I hate to admit it, but yes, I am. Not just me or my father, but you are in danger too."
Ian's brows lifted slightly.
There was no reason his mate should be afraid of anyone, especially not Stefanos Rassi. Not while he was alive and existing.
She took a step closer. "I don't want you to get hurt because of me. I'd never forgive myself."
That sort of amused him, earning a smirk and Diana frowned.
"Why are you smiling?" she asked, confused. "None of this is funny."
