Chapter 11 - Chapter 11- Encounter with the captain of the scavenger camp

"Captain, are the others coming?" A burly man holding a big war hammer said as he looked down towards a young man with fair skin and slightly long hair.

The young man who was addressed as the captain nodded his head. "Yes, zuro. They will soon be here." He said to the burly man as he walked silently.

The burly man nodded as he walked behind the captain. Beside him was a young woman in her late twenties with a bow on her back. She looked at the burly man with amusement and a little disdain as he asked the silly question.

These three people walked slowly towards the corroded zone together. The spirit energy fluctuations coming from them was very high. Hinting that their levels may be at least in the sixth level of Qi accumulation.

Naturally, these people were the party that Grey had spotted a distance away before rapidly retreating.

There were one of the hunting parties of the scavenger camp which went out to hunt for meat and gather herbs and plants from the corroded zone.

Among them was the young man with fair skin who was called Captain was actually the leader of the scavenger camp.

He had a graceful air around him and a cool temperament, which made one want to get closer to him. But that actually made the two others following him reveal a slight expression of respect and fear.

As he calmly walked into the corroded zone, he turned his head and two other people suddenly showed up.

They were two men whose spirit energy fluctuations were in the same level as the other party. The captain gave a small nod when he saw them and the party of five all set off together.

After walking a considerable distance into the corroded zone, the captain spoke. "Today we are here to collect blue silver grass and hunt some local animals."

As he said that, everyone nodded curtly and there was no further interaction between the group. They all had vigilant expression on their faces as they walked deeper into the corroded zone.

Everyone except for the captain who seemed less concerned walked warily, careful of their surroundings.

These four people with the captain were the only said people in the world who he trusted. They had gone through many experiences together and had lost some people on the way but that only brought their trust in each other closer.

They seemed to be walking in a random direction, but in truth they were really walking in a pre planned path that did not allow them to encounter any dangerous existences that may jeopardize their plan.

The area they were walking towards was also the area where Grey's dilapidated house was.

After eating, Grey was diligently cultivating when his eyes flew open. His expression revealed discontent.

He contemplated on standing up but then decided against it. In his mind, he thought that the captain and the others would just pass by without any interference. He would also like to avoid them so it would be best if he stayed hidden.

But when he was about to enter a meditative state, his eyes opened again and this time he immediately stood up and walked towards the door.

His eyes narrowed into a glint as he peeked through a small hole of miscellaneous items and looked at the scene outside.

The captain and his party was actually outside his dilapidated house. As Grey's gaze landed on the captain, the captain's head turned and he looked in his direction which made his heart start to race.

The captain gave a small sigh and began to walk forward. He stopped at the door three feet away with his hands in his pocket before speaking.

"Well, well. What do we have here? A cultivator in the fourth level of Qi accumulation living alone in the corroded zone. Will you come outside?"

The captain's voice echoed in his ears as his heart continued to race. 'He's found me out...'

Well if he could detect some small traces of spirit energy at his current level, why couldn't the captain do it.

Actually, he had longed noticed Grey's energy fluctuations and his attempts to suppress his aura, but the captain was a pro.

He had survived in the scavenger camp for several years. He would surely be more than capable.

'What should I do?'

As if reading his thoughts, the captain's voice rang out from outside.

"Actually, you don't need to be afraid. I've got no bad intentions but I am curious to know who this new energy fluctuations belong to. I know everyone in my scavenger camp but it seems like I've never met you before." He said calmly.

'My scavenger camp... is he the leader of the scavenger camp? But what is he doing here if all places? Why is he even in a corroded zone?'

The captain kept quiet and then turned his back to leave while rubbing the tip of his nose. He gestured for his companions.

Just as they were about to leave, the many miscellaneous items blocking the entrance fell down and Grey's figure could be seen.

The captain and the others turned their heads and they could see who was the foreign cultivator.

The captain's eyes held surprise mixed in with shock. "You're a kid... What is a kid like you doing in the corroded zone?"

It was one of two other men that said. Their gazes were fierce and rough. If it were Grey several days ago when he just transmigrated or before he killed the scavenger, he would have flinched back. But he instead raised his head and looked at them with a calm expression.

Meanwhile, his heart was beating frantically as he tried to stop himself from sweating. This many cultivators with high levels all around him releasing strong aura, he felt suppressed.

But he tried not to show fear and kept his gaze calm and collected. Good thing ha gaze was detached most of the time, so he hid his emotions well.
