Chapter 15 - Chapter 15- Guests

The next day when his cultivation session had ended, Grey silently opened his eyes. His gaze held a tranquil calmness and small white mist drifted out from his mouth.

The spiritual energy outside of the corroded zone was much more potent than within them and Grey felt this cultivation session of his was the fastest he ever had.

Not only was the corrosive substance minimal, but he felt much more refreshed. When he stood up, did not feel the spirit fluctuations from the captain nearby and walked out.

What he saw was a shocking scene. The captain stood on a single block of ice and overlooking the whole scavenger camp. His gaze was cold and misty and a few traces of white could be seen in his hair.

As the rising sun beamed its brights rays at him, it looked like the type of painting one would see from a well skilled artist. But Grey was viewing no gallery and instead, it was real.

Up there, the captain looked like an immortal overlooking the mortal world. His slightly long hair and delicate features looked heavenly and the faint white in his hair added a unique charm.

Anyone young girl who saw the captain right now would all head over heels at the moment. It was just too perfect.

As Grey was staring, the cold captain stepped on ice as he slowly walked down like he was walking down stairs.

When his foot touched the ground, he no longer had the cold expression on his face and the white hair one his hair was gone without a trace. Like he had just imagined it.

"You have woken up." The captain said calmly and Grey woke up from his self induced stupor. He nodded his head and the captain smiled faintly.

"We have work to be done!" He said and walked away while Grey followed. As the captain sped into the scavenger camp, Grey asked. "What work are we doing?"

The captain let out a small chuckle and smiled. "Nothing actually, nothing at all." He said but his words only made Grey confused.

As the captain was already reaching the outer settlements of the scavenger camp, he suddenly suppressed his aura and changed his clothes. He wore dark inconspicuous clothes that managed to cover his face.

Grey's face was already covered in mud and dirt and his clothes were already in rags but the captain suddenly pulled out a cloak and gave him.

Even though he looked like a scavenger himself, his Grey hair and eyes were quite peculiar and eye catching. It just wouldn't do.

After making sure that Grey's grey hair could not be seen, and his pretty face was fully covered. Only then did they leave their hiding place and walked slowly into the outer settlements of the scavenger camp.

The captain seemed to be used to this as he walked calmly like he was taking a stroll. No one seemed to notice that he was their leader in scavenger clothes.

He took a predetermined path which he seemed to have memorised and walked all around the scavenger camp with no goal in mind.

Although Grey was curious and dying to know what was happening, he didn't ask and just continued to follow the captain. All throughout the walk, there was a strange silence. But between these two people who were already used to and felt comfortable in silence, it was nothing.

Although Grey looked relaxed and carefree, he was actually very vigilant and kept a close eye on his surroundings. So when he saw the young girl in the stall attended to customers with a slightly distant look on her face, he lingered for a few moments longer than he should. And that was brought to attention by the captain.

"Do you know her?" He asked.

"No, I just bought some medicinal pills a couple of days ago. That's all." He shook his head and firmly replied.

The captain nodded and didn't ask anymore questions. That was the only time they spoke throughout the walk and by afternoon, they wee heading back to the captain's abode far away from other houses.

When they got inside, the captain cooked up some rabbit meat and several other goodies. Grey's mouth watered but he didn't rush the food set in front of him. Instead, he sat down in front of it with a somber expression.

The captain did not seem to notice him and ate as normal. When he had eaten half of the dishes and he was full, he stood up and went outside.

Several minutes passe by but the captain did not come back inside. When his tummy finally let out a low growl, he carefully picked up a side dish and put in his mouth.

When he tasted its sweetness, his eyes widened in pleasure but he suppressed his urge to eat like a fool and waited patiently. When the other party still did not show up after five minutes, he began to dig in.

Slowly at first but after a while he started to eat to his hearts content.

Outside the small house, the captain stood by the door with a small smile on his face. His gaze went to the sky as he muttered.

"So he's still so careful..."

When he saw nothing wrong happening, he left in the next second. When Grey had finished eating, he tidied up the place and washed the dishes. He then sat down quietly and began to wait for the captain.

After several hours had gone by, the advancing figure of the captain was in front of the house. He then walked in and saw Grey sitting down quietly and cultivating.

He seem to be in feel concentration as he did not even seem to notice the entrance of the captain. When he had only walked three feet into his room, Grey's eyes shot open.

He looked at the captain and nodded as a form f greeting. The captain nodded as well and said with his soft but calm voice.

"We are having guests today." With that, he turned and entered into his room. Grey's eyes held strange glint but it went away the next second.
