Lilith had spent the past few days working in the omegas' quarters, serving out her punishment as instructed by Zayd. Five days later, she was finally told to resume her duties under Madam Agnes. Overjoyed, she packed her things and moved back into her room. After days of scrubbing piles of filthy clothes, she was finally going to smell something other than sweat and dirt. It had been exhausting, and the other maids had clearly gone out of their way to give her extra loads to wash. Those scumbags. But it was over now, and she was never going back there again.
It had also been more than five days since she had seen Zayd. Strangely, she found herself wondering about him. Since Ava's words, she had been contemplating planning out her next escape. She didn't love him, couldn't love him but maybe Ava was right. If she got to know him better, perhaps she could find a way to ask him to let her go peacefully.
