While he walked, she murmured a few incoherent words before falling silent again. He could feel the heat radiating from her body and knew she needed relief before her condition worsened.
"It's so hot," she whispered, dropping a hand to her neck and tugging at the neckline of her gown to let in some fresh air.
When he finally reached his room, he locked the door behind him and walked up to the bed. He laid her down gently and then headed to his closet. After going through his shirts, he picked the thinnest one and returned to the bed.
Standing beside her, he watched as she shifted restlessly, trying to rid herself of the discomfort. Though he knew that the only way to truly help her was to relieve her, he also understood that what she needed wasn't something she wanted and he had promised never to force himself on her. So, she would have to endure the pain on her own.
