Zayd immediately sent a mind link to Ben, his tone sharp. 'Why is Lilith here? I specifically said she shouldn't be brought into this hall.'
'I gave the instruction to Madam Agnes myself, she would never disobey you. It must have been a mistake. Should I get her out?' Ben responded quickly.
'No. That will draw attention. Let her finish and make sure she's not back in here again.' Zayd cut off the link.
Unaware of the eyes on her, Lilith smiled as she served her guest. But Zayd grew uneasy when he noticed Bathsheba watching her intently, and of all people, she had to end up serving him?
"Alpha Zayd," Bathsheba's voice rang out clearly, drawing all eyes in the room to him, and continued, "your maids are quite beautiful. What's your secret in selecting them?"
Lilith turned at the sound of his voice, her gaze flickering to Zayd, curious about how he would respond.
"Alpha Bathsheba," Zayd replied calmly, "I don't choose the maids. My mother does. You would have to ask her."
