Mason returned from the press conference in silence. Daniel followed behind him, keeping pace, holding a tablet and a few files close to his chest.
The air felt lighter than it had in days, but there was still a tension underneath it all, one only Mason could feel.
As they walked past Anastasia's desk, Mason's eyes subtly scanned the area. She wasn't there.
'Where has she gone now?' he thought, momentarily slowing his steps. His brows slightly furrowed, but he quickly masked it with his usual calm expression.
They reached his office and Daniel stepped in just behind him, bubbling with excitement.
"This is great, Sir!" Daniel said, unable to hold back his joy.
"Your acting was top notch! That press meeting... it was everything we needed to turn this around.
I believe public sentiment will start working in our favour and the stock will begin rising again!"
Mason slowly turned to face him, his expression unreadable. His arms remained folded.
