The next morning began with the soft sunlight peeking through the hospital window, casting a warm glow on the tiled floor.
Anastasia had barely opened her eyes when the doctor came in for his morning rounds. He smiled at her as he checked her vitals and bandages.
"You're healing really fast," he said with a kind tone, scribbling into his chart. "If it continues like this, you might be able to go home today."
Anastasia gave a small smile. "Thank you, Doctor."
Just as he was about to step out, the door opened again, this time, a surprise to everyone in the room. Standing in the doorway were Chairman Harrington and Evelyn, Mason's mother.
The doctor straightened immediately and gave a slight bow. "Good morning, Chairman."
"Good morning," Grandpa said, walking in with slow, confident steps. "How is she?"
"She's recovering very well, sir," the doctor replied. "The head injury is healing fast, and she's responding well to her medication."
