Chapter 28 - MEETING WITH THE ALPHA

"I want to go to an amusement park, can we go there?" Nadia asked Shayne, she felt so trapped to live in this small apartment and spent her time here.

There was no one she could talk to and Shayne would always busy all the time. She couldn't go out alone, because she was scared, there were so many people out there and they were nonchalant, they were so callous with each other.

More so, she didn't know this place at all.

The tall buildings, cars, traffic jam and a lot of stranger faces Nadia had never met, overwhelmed her. It was always crowded and noisy here.

"I saw it in the commercial and it's only an hour away from here when I asked the warrior. Can we go there?"

"I can't. I am busy." Shayne frowned. He was on the phone with his warrior, he reported to him that Fenja had moved from her apartment and she was no longer working in the same place.

Shayne visited Fenja's old apartment two days ago, but it was someone else, who opened the door, as it turned out, Fenja had left.

"Can you shut up!?" Shayne roared, he couldn't hear what the warrior said because Nadia kept pestering him and her voice was really disturbing. He felt like his head was going to explode to hear her whining all the time.

"D- did you just snap at me?" Nadia was trembling, because she was scared.

Shayne knew what was what coming the moment he lost it, but he couldn't hold it back any longer, therefore when Nadia started crying and rushed toward the bedroom to lock herself there, he didn't even bother to persuade her.

"I didn't talk to you, continue with your report," Shayne said. He ignored Nadia's cries that was so loud, as if she wanted him to hear how much he had hurt her, but unfortunately, Shayne didn't care.

He was on the phone with his warriors for almost an hour and once he was done, he only felt more frustrated because they couldn't find where Fenja had gone.

It was almost like they had to start from scratch again.

Shayne was too upset, he didn't have time to coax Nadia to open the door, thus he went to the sofa and sleep there.

Even so, he couldn't sleep, because he was very agitated.

He thought, once he was in the capital city, he was going to find Fenja and bring her back home, but as it turned out, it was not as easy as that.

It was only later on, close to midnight that Shayne could finally fall asleep and Nadia come out of the room. She was shocked to see Shayne.

He chose to sleep uncomfortably there rather than persuaded her to open the door.

"What happened? This couldn't be…" She balled her fists and gritted her teeth, tears brimmed in her eyes, because she was upset too.

Shayne was not usually like this.

Even though he didn't have any romantic feeling for her, but they were always a good friend, she was the only woman he was close with for years.

If Fenja didn't appear, he had agreed to take her as his chosen mate, but why he acted as if she was his enemy? Nadia couldn't accept that.

Nadia couldn't even fathom what had changed? She felt like Shayne slipped through her fingers and she didn't even realize when it started to happen.

"You bring me here?" Fenja was already very happy when they went to the amusement park, but now, Jaxon took her to the same luxurious restaurant where he ditched her. "Are you trying to make it up to me?"

"You can say so," Jaxon said, he stared at her briefly. "Why? You don't like it?"

"No. I like it," Fenja said, she liked the food here, the thing that she didn't like was the memory of this place.

The alpha seemingly wanted to apologize to Fenja for what he had done, for what his other personality had put her through, but he couldn't convey the word nicely, thus he did all of this round about thing.

More so, he was sorry for how he used her earlier this morning.

Jaxon wanted to prove something; whether or not he was able to control himself when he interrogated the traitor within the warrior rank.

Usually, his cruel side would take over and the man would be dead in a matter of second in the most brutal way.

However, the man still survived. The traitor was still alive and Jaxon didn't lose himself during the interrogation, which was something rarely happened before.

He was still unsure whether Fenja played the role in that matter or not. He still needed her around while he tried a few more things.

"What do you want to eat?" Jaxon called the waitress, they were sitting at the same table, next to the floor- ceiling window, where Fenja could see the city lights again.

But this time, the sight of it was less lonely.

She didn't wear her pretty dress, but she was comfortable with the one she was wearing right now.

"I want lamb chop," Fenja said, she ordered the same drink like before and when the waitress left. She pulled out her card. "This time, I will pay the dinner."

Jaxon raised his brows when he heard that. "You will pay? He smirked.

"Yes. I have enough money in my bank. I can afford to pay this meal," she said happily.

Every morning, she woke up and the first thing she did was to check her money in her bank account and saw the amount, it made her day better.

She didn't mind to pay for their dinner, it wouldn't hurt her bank account.

"Okay," Jaxon said with amusement. "There will be a meeting with the alphas in two weeks from now, I want you to come with me," he said.

"Meeting with the alphas?" Fenja asked, she blanched.
