There was not much furniture here. This place was almost barren; the things that stood out were the large bed and the wardrobe.
Fenja looked around before she started to clean up; the view from the balcony was beautiful. But before ten minutes passed, someone entered the room.
This person actually slammed the door so hard it startled Fenja, and the feeling returned: the feeling of being hunted down, as if there was a strong predator in the same room and she was the prey.
Fenja felt very intimidated, and out of instinct, she turned around to find a man standing there. He was topless, only wearing his pants, which showed his perfect body, as if he was built of muscles. His short, black hair was slightly damp as water trickled down to his chest.
He was very tall and big, obviously an alpha.
Alpha Jaxon.
An omega like Fenja would have shown their obedient side and immediately lowered their head, but Fenja had once mated with an alpha, and she had lost her wolf; thus, she didn't feel the same feeling, yet still, this man oozed out authority, which forced her to submit to him out of instinct.
Fenja finally lowered her head, not because she was being submissive, but because she was flustered to see this man half-naked in front of her.
"What are you doing here?" The Alpha growled.
"I'm cleaning up this place," Fenja replied honestly.
The man didn't say anything for a while, which made Fenja lift her head slightly to peek at him. Wrong decision, because Alpha Jaxon was staring daggers at her, prompting her to lower her head again.
"I—I will leave; I will clean this room later." Fenja took the initiative, believing that she had intruded into his personal space.
However, when Fenja was about to leave, Alpha Jaxon grabbed her elbow, stopping her from leaving.
"Where are you going?" His voice was dark and deep, and his face was scowling, as if he was always angry all the time…
"I… ah!" Fenja was about to answer his question, but suddenly he pushed her against the wall, his face loomed over her and startled her. He was very close!
Fenja could feel his sturdy chest against hers and his scent. Cigar and cinnamon. Now she knew where the faint scent came from when she entered the house.
"What are you doing?"
Fenja was struggling to get away from him, but his grip on her was insane. He didn't let her go at all, and no matter how she tried to push him away from her, he only pinned her harder against the wall.
"How is it possible?!" Alpha Jaxon started to snarl as he buried his face against the crook of her neck, which set off an alarm in Fenja's mind.
The neck was a sensitive spot for a shifter.
In a battle, you shouldn't show your neck, because once your opponent got you there, you were done for good; but in this case, Alpha Jaxon showed an action as if he was going to mark Fenja, which made her freeze.
His nose was on her sweet spot, and his body pressed tightly against hers, which made her unable to move.
"A—Alpha… Alpha Jaxon?" Fenja stuttered. She didn't know why this alpha acted this way; his body felt burning, and this gave her a strange sensation; her skin hummed with delight.
"What is your name?" He sounded almost like he was growling.
"F—Fenja…"
"Who are you?" Alpha Jaxon pinched her chin and lifted her head, forcing her to see him.
Fenja stared straight into his eyes, where she lost herself. She had never seen such beautiful eyes with the color of grey.
Yes. He had grey eyes, but they suited his dark hair and his chiseled jaws. He was so handsome; more handsome than when Fenja saw him on the television.
The screen didn't do justice to his beauty.
"Answer me; who are you!?" Alpha Jaxon growled, which snapped Fenja from her reverie.
"I don't understand what you mean, Alpha…" Fenja stammered; her heart was thumping wildly against her chest. "I work here for today. I clean this place."
If this alpha decided to attack her, she wouldn't have a chance to escape his clutch.
Thankfully, at that moment, the old man from earlier re-entered the room and saw what was happening. He immediately came to Alpha Jaxon and cautiously pushed him away from Fenja.
"Alpha, what are you doing here? I thought you were in the other room."
"Who is she?" Alpha Jaxon growled. He stared daggers at Fenja, as if she had stolen something from him.
"She is a cleaning lady. She is here to clean up the house."
"I don't want her to be here," Alpha Jaxon said through his gritted teeth. He held his head that throbbed painfully. Her scent bothered him.
He wanted her to be away from his sight, out of his reach, because he was not sure what he was going to do to her if she stayed a little bit longer here.
"You can leave now," the old man said to Fenja.
She nodded and immediately left the room. She looked scared by the Alpha's outburst. Poor girl.
"Come here; I will help you to lie down," the old man said as he helped him to get into the bed and arranged the pillow behind his head to make him feel comfortable, while the Alpha was still pulling his hair because of the headache.
"Where is my medicine, Jack?"
The old man named Jack immediately produced a bottle of medicine from his pocket and handed five pills to the Alpha. "You shouldn't rely on this, Alpha."
However, Jaxon ignored his warning. He poured himself a glass of water and then drank the five pills. Because of his shifter body, he needed a strong medicine for it to take some effect on him; even so, it wouldn't last for long.
No one knew about this side of the Alpha.
