Chapter 7 - Another Date

After hours in the lab, I finally began to understand what kind of project we were working on. It was a serum designed to regenerate missing limbs—something revolutionary. But I also knew where this road would lead. This was the very serum that would eventually turn Dr. Curt Connors into the Lizard.

That couldn't be allowed to happen.

It would destroy Dr. Connors' life, not to mention the danger it would pose to everyone in the city. I had to make sure this experiment didn't go down the same dark path.

After extensive testing and rounds of experimentation, we finally achieved results that were, at least on paper, promising. Excitement buzzed in the lab as Dr. Connors gently picked up one of the lab rats and handed it to me. I carefully injected the green serum into the rat, then placed it in a glass container for observation.

Moments later, the door to the lab opened and someone stepped in. We all turned to see who it was.

"Good afternoon, Dr. Curt. Have you managed to reach a breakthrough?" said Norman Osborn as he strode confidently into the room, his sharp eyes scanning the space.

Dr. Connors pointed toward the rat, which had started trembling inside the glass enclosure. After a few moments, something miraculous happened—its small, missing limb began to regenerate before our eyes.

"Magnificent, Doctor. Begin human trials tomorrow. Our client needs the cure immediately," Norman said with the kind of tone that didn't leave room for debate

"But sir," Dr. Connors replied hesitantly, "we still don't know the full side effects of the serum. We need more time."

Norman's voice remained cold and indifferent. "That's why I said tomorrow. Find a solution before then."

Dr. Connors sighed heavily, clearly conflicted, as Norman turned his attention to me.

"Oh, Peter. I didn't realize you'd become an intern here," he said, raising a curious eyebrow.

Of course he remembered me. Back when Harry and I were closer friends, Norman had picked him up from school once and we'd been introduced.

"Hello, Mr. Osborn. I'm not officially an intern—I was just lending Dr. Connors a hand on his project," I replied with a polite smile.

"Ah, he must be tapping into your genius then," Norman said, nodding faintly before turning and heading toward the exit. "Good work. Keep it up."

Once he was gone, I turned to Dr. Connors again.

"Do you need any more help, Doctor?"

He shook his head and smiled at me gratefully. "No, Peter. You've done more than enough. Thank you."

"Anytime, Doc. Take care, Gwen," I added with a wave. Gwen returned the gesture, a small smile playing on her lips as I turned toward the elevator.

As I stepped inside, I quietly slipped one of the green vials into my inventory. Just in case.

Once outside, I took out my phone and dialed Felicia's number.

RING… RING… RING…

"Hey Peter," she answered playfully. "Did you miss me already?"

"I really did," I said with a chuckle. "Feel like going out now?"

"I thought we said tonight?"

"I just couldnt wait any more to meet you again my kitten" i said with a teasing smirk on my face

"kitten... eww don't say that shit again" she replied and i could hear the disgust in her voice

I chuckled a little and said " whatver you want my kitten"

"ugghhh you're impossible" she said groaning

" Let's meet at the mall. See you soon babe "

"Okay, see you there," she replied huffing a litthe, hanging up.

I quickly returned home to drop off my school bag. After greeting May and assuring her I wouldn't be out too late, I changed into something casual but neat, then made my way toward the mall.

As soon as I arrived, I spotted her.

Felicia stood out in the crowd, her platinum hair catching the fading sunlight. She wore black leather boots, matching pants that hugged her athletic build, a fitted white shirt, and a stylish silver handbag. Her black jacket added a layer of rebellious flair. She looked like she stepped out of an action movie.

I walked up beside her and offered my arm.

"You look amazing," I said with a smile. "I might need to fight off the entire mall just to keep you safe."

She laughed and nudged my side. "Well, I hope you're up to the task."

We started off with a movie—an action-packed new release. We grabbed popcorn and sodas, then found our seats in the middle row. It felt natural sitting beside her. She whispered jokes during the previews, and I found myself laughing more than I expected.

Afterward, we grabbed dinner at a small Italian restaurant in the food court, chatting easily as we ate. It felt like we were finally settling into something more than just flirting.

Later, we wandered the mall aimlessly before ending up at a nearby park. The evening breeze was cool, and the park's lights cast a golden glow over the benches. We bought ice cream and found a quiet spot to sit, her head gently resting on my shoulder as we watched the world go by.

"Felicia," I said softly, turning toward her. She looked up, her green eyes locking with mine.

"You've got something on your face," I said, leaning in and grabbing her neck from behind

"Oh? Probably just ice cream. I'm so clum—"

but before she continues, I sealed her lips with mineshe widened her eyes but didn't protest, I tried to push forward and use my tongue, she opened her mouse accepting willingly, and wet sounds of two clumsy tongues began fighting

It looked like none of us was experienced to take the lead, the kiss lasted for a while then we separated

with a big blush on her face she looked at me, her green eyes were hazy and her breathing was heavy

"You look… really cute right now," I whispered and looked at her wet lips craving more of her sweet taste

Felicia grinned and leaned in again, this time taking the lead. Our second kiss was more natural, warmer, and filled with something new—something neither of us had admitted aloud.

Afterward, we just sat there quietly, my arm around her waist, her head tucked against my side.

"You really suck at kissing," she teased playfully.

"You too," I replied with a laugh, nudging her.

The teasing faded into silence again, both of us quietly enjoying the closeness.

"You want to head back now?" I asked gently.

She nodded.

We walked slowly back to her place, neither of us in a hurry to end the evening. When we reached her door, we shared one last hug. It wasn't overly romantic—it was warm, comfortable, and full of promise.

"Goodnight, Peter," she said softly.

"Goodnight, Felicia."

And with that, I turned and headed home, a small smile still on my face.
