Chapter 8 - Speak Of The Devil

When I arrived home, I greeted May and went upstairs. I threw my bag on the bed and grabbed my clothes from the other night now cleaned

" i need to make a proper suit soon, one with protection even"

Suddenly, I sensed someone behind me. I turned and saw May standing in the doorway, a worried expression on her face.

I walked over to her, kissed her on the forehead, and gave her a hug.

"Peter... I'm afraid to lose you too," she said softly.

"Don't ever think like that. I'm not going anywhere. I'll always be by your side," I replied, holding her close.

She traced her fingers along a long slash on my hoodie "Did it hurt?"

"It was just a small scratch. Your little man's tougher than he looks." i said flexing my muscle a little

She chuckled and placed a hand on my chest. "Not so little anymore."

"I'll be going now, May," I said. Just as I turned, she grabbed my head gently and kissed me on the cheek.

"Be careful out there."

I nodded and disappeared in a blink. She gasped slightly at my sudden disappearance, placing a hand on her chest.

I stood at the window for a moment, I sighed, pulled my black mask over my face, and leapt out into the night.

After some time patrolling the city, I spotted a group of masked men loading wooden crates into a truck. They were armed—but not doing anything yet. I stayed back, watching.

Once they finished, I silently dropped onto the truck roof and activated my invisibility.

Eventually, the truck arrived at an old, abandoned factory. They went inside. I counted ten armed men.

I climbed to the ceiling and latched on with my webs, silently watching.

"We better get this transaction done soon. If the boss finds out we're late—" one thug started.

"It's not our fault. That Daredevil guy keeps messing with the boss's operations."

Just then, I noticed someone in the shadows... staring directly at me. I froze—but he gave me a simple nod. I nodded back.

Speak of the devil... literally.

I dropped down silently next to him, still invisible. Only Daredevil could sense me.

"Were you really planning to take them all by yourself?" I whispered.

He shook his head. "I'm trying to find hard evidence on the Kingpin."

"Oh. Are you waiting for the others?"

He nodded again.

"Well, let's take care of them before they get here."

"How?" he asked, tilting his head toward me.

"I'll get rid of their guns. Once they're disarmed, you jump in."

He nodded again. I climbed back up to the ceiling and began shooting invisible webs at each thug's weapon.

Once they were all attached, I deactivated my invisibility and yanked them away all at once. The weapons flew through the air and clattered into a far corner.

"What the hell—?!" one of them shouted.

I silenced him by swinging a bundle of stolen guns like a bat into his chest. He crumpled instantly.

Daredevil was already fighting two of them. That left seven. They were tense, eyeing me like cornered animals.

Four of them charged at once.

As they closed in, I backflipped over the one behind me and fired two webs at the guy in front. I yanked him forward and kicked the thug beneath me in the back. Their heads collided with a loud crack, both dropping like rocks.

Electricity began pulsing through my fists and legs. I sprinted toward the two to my left.

I slammed my right leg into one's gut and spun with my left, delivering a roundhouse to the other's face. He flew back, unconscious. The first thug hit the ground, twitching from the jolt.

Suddenly, a fist flew toward my head. I ducked just in time, grabbing the attacker's arm and flipping him over my shoulder. Before he hit the ground, I kicked him hard, flipping him midair. He landed with a dull thud, unconscious.

Two down.

I turned to see the three who had gotten up. They stood in a line. Perfect.

I leapt forward, grabbed two heads, and slammed them into the floor. Electricity surged through them, knocking them out cold.

With both hands still on their skulls, I launched my legs upward, wrapping them around the third guy's head. I yanked him down, slamming his face into the concrete.

I pushed off his body and somersaulted toward the last two thugs. I hit them both with a double roundhouse kick. They went flying.

I never held back, maybe a little else they may die

As the final thug dropped, Daredevil approached me.

"Good work, Spider-Man. You can leave the rest to me."

"No problem. I know you want to bring down the Kingpin. So do I. If I can help, let me know."

"I don't know why someone your age is doing something this dangerous, but I can see you're capable."

"How did you know I'm young?" I asked, surprised.

He smirked. "Let's just say... I'm a very good detective."

He paused. "You have some kind of invisibility power, don't you?"

I nodded. "Yeah. Part of the whole spider-package."

"If you really want to help, there's something big we can do."

"I'm listening."

"A guy like the Kingpin doesn't run an empire without keeping records—documents, ledgers, files. Probably hidden in a secure location."

"If you can sneak in and retrieve that evidence, we can finally bring him down."

"And how do I contact you?"

He handed me a card with a number. "When you get the files, give them to this detective. He'll take care of the rest."

I looked at the card. "Matt Murdock... that explains the detective skills," I said, chuckling.

Before he could say anything, I leapt toward the nearest window and vanished into the night.
