'Great! I managed to get his attention. Now I just need to buy enough time without telling him anything. If he got a hold of that information, my life would be so much harder down the line! But how the hell am I going to convince this guy of anything!? The only reason I know of this dude was from the description of his library .'
"From the sounds of it, you seem to have some bad blood with him. Can I ask why by chance?"
The sack man stared at Evan expressionless. He gripped Evans hand and quickly began to bend his fingers. Evan grit his teeth in pain as he looked back towards the sack man.
"Answer." Sack man said.
"..."
Crack!
Evans yelled in pain as his finger had bent backwards as the sack man grabbed the next finger.
"Answer."
"God damn it! Fuck!"
The sack man waited for a moment before another loud crack echoed through the prison.
"Gahh! Ahhhhh god! Give me a minute! I'll tell you!" Evan yelled as the sack man continued to stare.
Catching his breath, he looked towards the sack man. He gave a faint smile as his eyes glared.
"He's dead. Died a while back ago. Saved me from a gang of dangerous peo-"
Another finger was broken, cutting Evan off as he once again released a scream. He looked towards the Sack man. He was right in Evans face as his bright red eyes were seen.
"Dont you lie to me! He–!" He paused, before gaining his composure back.
"Why must you play these games? At this rate we'll have to go to the other hand."
He then snapped another one of Evans fingers as he stared at him groveling with a blank expression. He lifted Evans' chin up.
"You got one finger left here. If you don't give me an answer, its going to be either your arm, or that girls. It's up to you if you wish to continue these shenanigans." He said.
"You're not gonna believe this crazy stuff, but I got no clue what your talking about."
Still bound to the bed, Evelyne gritted her teeth in anger. She was powerless. Evans screams of pain only fueled her emotions as she once again struggled against the iron restraints. Her hands became bruised and bled a bit as she continued to resist with all her might. As another snap rang to her ears, a memory ran through her head suddenly.
Although it was day, the skies darkened as smoke rose from the flames of wood burning. A young Evelyne stood beside her father as her older brother was ushered out and tied to a stake as many of the other parts of the family had gathered like this was a big event. She looked up at her father.
"Papa, why is brother being tied up?" She asked.
He looked down with the eyes of a man who was losing everything. He kneeled down to her level and gently grabbed her shoulder. Trying to speak, only a faint breath escaped as it seemed he was trying his hardest to compose himself.
"He… Your brother is going to die."
"Die!? Why?! Brother was nice and good to people!" She asked, her face panicked.
"I… He–"
"He was weak, Evelyne. He made a pact with a demon which is taboo. His strength wasn't enough and he decided to throw his life away and ask someone else." Her mother explained, cutting off her husband in the process.
Her eyes looked back down to the fiery site. Her brother's eyes suddenly met hers. As flames began to tail right behind him, he flashed a smile filled with pain.
'He was weak, thats why hes going to die.'
Evelyne was suddenly rushed back inside the castle as her brother's pain wrenching screams sung to an audience.
Tears began to run down her face as she gritted her teeth. Her eyes filled with uncontrollable anger as a pink hue began to flash around her. She repeatedly bashed her hands on the iron locks until her wrists were ruined, bleeding heavily.
Another snap echoed as Evan screamed once again. His hand was a mess with all of his fingers broken. The Sack man stood up as he held his chin in thought.
"Your not willing to talk clearly, so I guess we should relocate you to a torture ro- GAHAHAH! I have a better idea! D-19, since he's not willing to talk, lets just remove his arm! His fingers are already useless so let's just make the arm as well!" The Sack man screamed as he began to start clawing his skin on his forearm.
As the giant began to pull, a loud blast shot everyone back. Evan watched as the giant's upper body disintegrated before he himself began flying. He grabbed onto the hand railing mid air as he flew off the walkway, dangling from a large fall.
'She must have awakened her wild magic! This could be our one and only chance!'
Evelyne walked out of her cell as she stared down sack man who was unaffected by her blast.
"G-GAAH! You imbecile you fool you idiot you dumb brained numbskulL! How could you not extract her blood! Now we can't even attempt the experiments!" The man yelled at himself as he smashed his head into the guard rail. Evelyne raised her hand as she began to chant. A large ball of light expelled itself from her palms. They then explode into flames as they swirl in a circle,
"N-not good! Must warn mother of this catastrophe of an offering!" Sack man screamed as he rushed towards Evelyne, planning to take her down in one blow.
Evelyne slammed her hands down onto the floor as the flames spread all over the floor. Sack man, surprised, jumped onto the guard rails. She once again let off a large burst of energy which sent sack man falling off the railing. He gripped Evans thigh before using his momentum to throw himself onto the floor below them. Evan unwillingly followed as he fell onto his face.
Picking himself up, he was face to face with him. He quickly took action, swinging his other hand at sack man, only to be parried. The sack man planted his foot into Evans stomach and sent him rolling onto the ground as he dodged a sudden fire attack from Evelyne who had made it down to their floor.
Evan rushed at him with his arm up ready to try and punch sack man again. As Sack man readied himself to counter, Evan changed his stance to a tackle, slamming into him. He didn't move a single inch off the ground.
Evan was once again shoved to the side as Evelyne's bombardment of flame attacks were easily dodged by him. Passing Evans face, a flame bolt flew past Evans face as he turned to Evelyne. Her eyes were pitch black.
'Shit, her wild magic has finally taken full control of her. Now I gotta find a way to beat both this guy and manage to snap her out of her trance!'
