Miranda's POV
"Don't move," He said, hugging me tightly. I stared at his tired eyes and wondered what must have caused him to be so restless.
"You're…" I raised my hand and gently brushed my finger on his face. "Tired,"
He didn't answer and kept staring at me.
"Alpha Colton," I called out, but he didn't answer. I bit my lips hard, 'Maybe it's not my place to ask what happened to him. After all, I'm just one of his tools.'
"I'm sorry," I muttered, then dropped my hand and laid back my head on the headboard. I'll do as instructed and wait patiently for him to leave.
And as expected, nothing came out from his mouth. Alpha Colton hugged me tightly and snuggled his head on my stomach.
I closed my eyes while I waited for the time for him to leave. The soft hum from the air purifier sounded in my ears along with the repetitive tick of the clock.
"We didn't discuss about what happened to you and Axel," His voice sounded in my ears and my eyes fluttered open.
