Miranda's POV
Alpha Colton refused to speak with me after the encounter with Karl. I stared at the empty dining table and sighed for the umpteenth time. Emily hasn't returned and I was all alone.
I returned to my room and crashed on the bed. My eyes stared at the ceiling as a thought crossed my mind.
"Alpha Colton's change of behavior is weird," I muttered while my hand patted the bed in search of something, and soon enough coldness kissed my palm.
I picked the object and raised it up for me to see. "This pendant," it glows softly as if responding to my call. "Why did he give it to me?"
"He refused to speak about it and pretended like nothing happened." I sighed, dropped the pendant on the bed, and rolled to my side.
My mind ticked along with the clock as silence slowly wrapped me in her embrace. What is he doing behind that door?
Should I check it out?
I stared at the door connected to mine and pondered over my decision.
