Tristan could only think of one place to go, he got down from the bus and walked towards Nita's small apartment not far from their school.
He couldn't return home because he was sure his father would drag him back to the Alpha King but the thought of Adriana yelling down his neck and exposing his secret made him choose to go to his best friend.
As he knocked on the door he thought of what to tell her and what made him come here this late.
"Who is it?" Her voice came from within the apartment and the sound of it made his eyes brim with tears.
Since high school she had always been very protective of him and she knows too much about him and would see through him like a translucent paper. She would definitely persuade him until he revealed what happened.
"I said who is th–
The rest of her words disappeared down her throat as she opened the door to see Tristan standing by the door with the hood of his hoodie covering his hair.
"Tristan!" She yelled in excitement and hugged him tightly before she led him inside.
"It's so late, why are you here?
You disappeared from school but showed up here. Are you now getting some fun with an Alpha" She asked jokingly but Tristan went red as she said those words and he remembered the kiss he shared with the Alpha.
"Huh? You are blushing.
Is it true?" She squealed but Tristan slowly shook his head and sat down on the only couch in her small living room.
"Is something wrong?
I knew something was amiss with the way you sounded on the phone, and where are your glasses?" She asked as he studied his face.
"I'm wearing contact lenses.
Can I spend the night here?" Tristan asked in a small voice and looked at her eagerly.
"Oh, of course.
But are you alright?
You know you can confide in me right?" She asked, and drew closer to him to cup his face in her hands.
As an Omega herself, their relationship went beyond their gender and despite their weaknesses she always protected him whenever it was necessary and she had always been his shield despite being bullied by others herself.
"I'm tired now, can we talk in the morning?" Tristan asked softly and she stared at him silently for a few seconds, her eyes showing how much her heart held for him.
"Alright then, take the bed in the room. I will use this couch, "she said in a cheerful voice.
"Huh?
We can share the bed" Tristan corrected and she chuckled lightly.
"That's true, this is not the first time anyways" She replied as she went into the room with him.
Tristan stayed awake for most of the night, his mind finding it difficult to find peace at the most peaceful moment of the night.
Eventually he drifted off to sleep with the thought of the Alpha on his mind.
He wished things were slightly different, he would have acted differently.
The Alpha was the first Alpha to look at him like he was a person. But unfortunately, things don't always go as he wished for.
However, Alpha King Mitch, also miles apart from him, barely slept through the night.
They left the pack house very early in the morning.
Gale grumbled as he got behind the wheel, his efforts to persuade the Alpha to let them stay for the rest of the day so that everything would be settled before the mating ceremony planned to happen in about four days. But his Alpha was stubborn.
"Would you drive like a person with some brain?
If you kill me, I will become a ghost to haunt you" Alpha Mitch complained as Gale hit on the brake without slowing down for the third time in the last thirty minutes.
Gale bit down on a snarky response on the tip of his tongue as he could not understand how the Alpha was feeling about his Omega being in potential danger.
They got to the Mansion and all the guards immediately went down on one knee and bowed to the Alpha.
A gesture they only use when they have failed in a mission or lost a war.
"What is going on?" Gale asked as his eyes looked at them demanding an answer.
"We have failed you Alpha" One of them said and Gale looked back at Mitch who had an unreadable look on his face.
Without a single word to them, he stormed into the house with Gale hot on his tail but they were shocked to see all the maid's gathered in the hallway with their heads lowered.
A bad feeling crept up his mind.
He raced up to the room he had left his Omega and flung the door opened.
An empty room welcomed him.
He hurried to search the bathroom and closet but the Omega was nowhere in sight.
"Where is the Omega I left in your care?" He turned to ask the maid he had assigned to look after his Omega.
The middle-aged woman went on her knees as sobs ripped through her body.
"I have no idea Alpha, I woke up and saw that she was gone" She replied while crying.
"Bring Adriana to me now" Alpha Mitch ordered his beta as his chest heaved heavily as his eyes narrowed in anger.
He had left for just a day, how can his Omega disappear just because he was away and right from under the nose of so many guards.
Adriana arrived in a robe and had another towel wrapped around her hair.
She had been soaking in a bath before they arrived.
She smiled warmly when she saw Mitch standing in the middle of the room.
She drew down the neck of her robe, exposing her bounty breast.
She refused to believe he wouldn't be enchanted by her beauty.
They had sex all the time until a few years ago but she was determined to make sure he got obsessed with her again. She had been biding her time thinking he would realise what he was missing but he went to ahead to marry a pathetic Omega
"Mitch" She said in a sultry voice as she walked into the room.
Alpha Mitch dropped his gaze to her face, he was fighting to remain cool headed.
"Both of you should leave us". He ordered his beta and the maid but his gaze did not leave Adriana's.
