Bai Hanyun nodded to Li Qin and greeted him, "Hello, Master Li."
Li Qin smiled at her and then sat down in front of Bai Hanyun. After that, the young woman left, only to return moments later with two cups of tea. After serving them, she went back downstairs.
Left alone with Li Qin, Bai Hanyun opened her backpack, took out a box, and placed it on the low table.
"Master Li, please help me check these items."
Li Qin put on white gloves and a pair of magnifying glasses. He then carefully opened the box and took out the two letters and the bronze plate.
Unfolding the letters, he examined them for over five minutes before his eyes flickered with surprise. "This…"
Not knowing what was happening, Bai Hanyun curiously asked, "Master Li, are these letters worthless?"
Hearing her question, Li Qin looked at her and explained, "These aren't letters—they are prayers. They were written in an ancient language used long before the Shang Dynasty."
"A few years ago, archaeologists discovered a bronze plate with the same inscription as these prayers. After years of study, they determined that the bronze plate originated from a time before the Shang Dynasty—more than 10,000 years ago."
Bai Hanyun thought for a moment and asked, "Do you know which dynasty these prayers came from?"
The old man shook his head. "The first dynasty in our recorded history is the Xia Dynasty, which existed around 5,000 or 4,000 years ago. However, because of the lack of evidence and artifacts, the existence of the Xia Dynasty is still debated among historians."
He paused, glanced at the letters, then added, "As for whether there was an empire before the Xia Dynasty, no one truly knows."
After hearing this, Bai Hanyun lowered her gaze, thinking, 'Could it be that Feng Xiyan isn't from the past, but from another world? If this is the case, then why are the characters used by Feng Xiyan the same as those inscribed on Shang Dynasty bronze plates?'
While she was lost in thought, Li Qin turned his attention to the bronze plate.
A few minutes later, he said, "Young lady, this bronze plate likely shares the same origin as the prayers."
Bai Hanyun already knew this because those came from Feng Xiyan, so of course, they shared the same origins.
What she really wanted to know was whether the bronze plate had any value. She really needs a lot of money to support 80.000 ancient people.
"Master Li, do you think I can sell them?" she asked.
Li Qin was surprised when he heard this. After a few seconds of silence, he asked, "Young lady, these antiques are authentic and over 5,000 years old. Are you sure you want to sell them?"
Bai Hanyun nodded and lied without blinking. "These were left to me by my grandfather. I need money, so I have no choice but to sell them."
Hearing this, Li Qin nodded in understanding. He knew that no one in their right mind would willingly part with such precious antiques unless they were desperate.
Bai Hanyun observed him carefully and noticed how he kept caressing the bronze plate and the prayers. Seeing this, the corners of her lips curled slightly.
'He is clearly interested in them. Maybe I can just sell them to him.'
With this in mind, Bai Hanyun said, "Thank you, Master Li, for your help. I still have things to do, so I will take my leave first."
When she said this, Li Qin was stunned. He looked at her and asked with a hint of urgency in his voice, "Young lady, didn't you say you wanted to sell them?"
"I do," Bai Hanyun replied and added, "I'm going to post a picture online and see if anyone is interested in buying them."
As soon as her words fell, Li Qin looked like he might have a heart attack.
Seeing her begin to pack up the bronze plate and the prayers, he quickly said, "Young lady, could you wait for a moment? I know someone who might be interested."
'Oho~ The fish is hooked!' she thought.
Seeing his anxious expression, Bai Hanyun agreed. "Alright. I can wait ten minutes."
Li Qin's eyes lit up at her words and he hurriedly said, "I will make a phone call. Please enjoy the tea, Young Lady."
Without waiting for Bai Hanyun's reply, he hurried into one of the rooms, closed the door, and dialed a number. After a few rings, the call connected.
"Grandpa Li, it's rare for you to call me," a man's voice said.
Li Qin lowered his voice and said, "Xiao Yu, I heard you have been looking for a birthday gift for your grandfather. Have you found one yet?"
Sitting in his office on the top floor of the Yu Group's building, Yu Xiangyu leaned back in his leather chair and rubbed his forehead.
"Not yet. Do you have something suitable, Grandpa Li?" he asked.
Li Qin hummed. "Yes. But it might be very expensive."
Yu Xiangyu's eyes flickered as he said, "Money isn't an issue. As long as it's good enough to make my grandpa happy."
As the CEO of the Yu Group, he could afford any birthday gift he wanted.
Hearing this, Li Qin said, "Good. I will send you a photo of the item. If you are interested, I will negotiate the price with the owner."
Yu Xiangyu smiled slightly and said, "Alright. Then I will leave it to you, Grandpa Li. Thank you."
"No problem."
After ending the call, Li Qin returned to the lounge. Seeing that Bai Hanyun was still there, he let out a breath of relief.
He put on a smile and said, "Young lady, that person wants to take a look at the item. May I take a few pictures and record a video to show him?"
Bai Hanyun nodded. "Go ahead."
With her permission, Li Qin took several photos of the bronze plate and the prayers and then recorded a video while introducing them.
