Chapter 14 - Delivering Supplies

When Bai Hanyun arrived home, she ate and took a nap. By the time she woke up, the sky had already begun to change color.

After taking a bath, she went to the backyard to check on the antique mirror. Seeing that it was still absorbing water, Bai Hanyun turned back toward the house.

Before she could take a few steps, her phone rang. Seeing that it was an unknown number, she answered, "Hello, who is this?"

A moment later, a man's voice replied, "Is this Miss Bai Hanyun?"

"Yes."

After confirming her identity, the man explained, "We are from the Sweet Bun Bun store. Are you at home? We are in front of your house now."

Hearing that the goods had arrived, Bai Hanyun's eyes lit up. "Yes. Please wait a moment."

Without hanging up the call, she rushed out to open the gate.

When the deliveryman saw her, he asked, "Miss Bai, where should we unload the goods?"

"In the backyard," Bai Hanyun said, opening the gate. "Please come this way."

With Bai Hanyun leading the way, the delivery men unloaded the boxes and carried them into the backyard.

Bai Hanyun didn't like crowds or noise, so she had bought this house that was located far from others, with a large backyard surrounded by high walls. Her nearest neighbor was 500 meters away, which made it convenient for her to do things in peace.

While the delivery men moved the goods, Bai Hanyun and the team leader checked their quality and quantity.

After confirming everything was in order, Bai Hanyun signed the purchase order and transferred the remaining balance to Li Dagou. Then, she handed 100 yuan to each deliveryman before escorting them out.

Once she locked the main gate, Bai Hanyun decided to close the backyard's retractable roof in case it rained that night. Afterward, she ordered takeout for dinner and watched a drama.

While Bai Hanyun was enjoying her meal, Feng Xiyan and the others still had no time to rest. They had been transporting water since morning and had already filled all available containers.

Seeing that water was still flowing from the mirror, Zhan Qi said, "Great General, all the water containers are full. What should we do with the excess water?"

Feng Xiyan thought for a second before ordering, "Spread the word. Let the people line up in front of the barracks to collect water. No matter how many containers they bring, we will fill them."

Hearing this, the generals' eyes lit up. They clasped their fists and said, "This subordinate accepts the order!"

As the news spread throughout the city, both soldiers and civilians cried tears of joy, kneeling down and thanking Heaven. Before long, long lines had formed outside the barracks.

All night long, Xiqiang City buzzed with joyful laughter and tears. By daybreak, every household had enough water to last half a month, but the mirror was still pouring water.

Seeing this, Feng Xiyan picked up the mirror and brought it to the lake near the barracks. After placing it by the lakeside, he called, "Feng Yi."

A moment later, Feng Yi appeared behind him, knelt down, and asked, "Master, what are your orders?"

Feng Xiyan looked at him and said, "Guard the mirror. Don't let anyone approach it."

Feng Yi clasped his fists. "Yes, Master."

While the mirror filled the lake, Feng Xiyan deployed armed soldiers to guard the area around it. With that taken care of, he returned to the barracks to take care of other matters.

When Bai Hanyun woke up, it was already nine in the morning. After washing up and having breakfast, she went to the backyard and pulled the antique mirror out of the river.

After checking that it was undamaged, she brought it back into the house.

Meanwhile, Feng Yi saw that the water had finally stopped flowing and decided to bring the mirror back to Feng Xiyan. He picked it up, wrapped it in red silk, and disappeared from there.

Appearing inside Feng Xiyan's tent, Feng Yi knelt, raised the mirror with both hands, and reported, "Master, the water has stopped."

Feng Xiyan opened his eyes and rose from bed. He took the mirror, carefully placed it back on the altar, and then dressed.

Looking at Feng Yi, he said, "Well done. Go back and rest."

"Thank you, Master." With those words, Feng Yi disappeared.

Once he was alone, Feng Xiyan lit three incense sticks and knelt before the mirror, praying sincerely.

At the same time, Bai Hanyun had finished drying the antique mirror. Looking into it, she saw Feng Xiyan with his eyes closed in prayer and said to the antique mirror, "Hey, I want to talk to him."

The mirror glowed briefly and the image became clearer. But before Bai Hanyun could speak, she saw the generals with heavy dark circles under their bloodshot eyes entering the tent.

Thinking they might have something important to report, she placed the antique mirror on the dining table and went to make breakfast.

The generals noticed Feng Xiyan in prayer and waited quietly. When he finished and stuck the incense into the burner, Fan Wanming asked, "Great General, has the water stopped?"

Feng Xiyan nodded. "Yes. But Fairy Bai said she would bless us with food after the water."

"That's great! With water and food, we can attack the Yuezhi Tribe and take the initiative in this war!" Zhan Qi said, clearly excited.

"Yes." Feng Xiyan nodded in agreement.

Returning with a cup of soymilk and two meat buns, Bai Hanyun noticed Feng Xiyan and the others were kneeling in front of the mirror.

She set the food down on the dining table and said, "Feng Xiyan, I'm going to send the supplies over. There are quite a lot of supplies this time, so you will need to find a bigger place."

As her voice echoed through the tent, the generals froze in astonishment.
