As Cades eyes were closed he could not feel his own intent, he simply felt the intent of the stone, the intent to move, the intent to do something, the intent to displace itself, he felt how that very intent was contained within itself, waiting to activate as soon as something was supplied to it, and there was something else, something underlying which he, as a transcribe, could not decipher at first glance, or perhaps just because this was his first time trying to analyse these constructs, either way, after waiting some time he began to feel a slight pull radiating from the intent within the stone.
And as such he began to try and answer that ever so slight pull that seemed to want something from him, it wanted to be one, it wanted to belong, it wanted to work with him, it wanted to strengthen him, or at least that's what Cades assumed after he tried reading the intent hidden beneath the first, obvious intent of the sleigh golden marble that he was still holding in his hands, the marble that now began glowing while his eyes were still closed and while he himself began to move, began to answer the pull, but in the opposite direction of what the marble supposedly wanted.
Finally, after about a quarter hour of nothing, a quarter hour in which he hadn't even realized anything, a quarter hour that seemed more like a second to him, his self began moving, it began to stretch outwards slowly, it was as when he was using intent during a battle with the sword or something of the likes, just as when he was using his own intent due to the incredible hatred, anger or fear he felt, the emotions that translated his will into a kind of tangible intent, but right now his very intent that was being translated was to control the intent, something that he was however still barely able to achieve if at all.
It was slower than the slowest snail, his will came oozing out in the form of an invisible force, slowly crouching in towards the golden marble that was now glowing in a slight silver light, starting to emanate a slight string of silver liquid that seemed to come out of nowhere, but so little that it wouldn't have been as thick as a hair, a string that was collecting beneath it, slowly trying to hang onto the stone, trying to reattach itself and moving as if that silver which reminded Cades of all the silver that had entered his body had a conscious, a conscious that tried to stay within the marble that wished to not stay as itself.
Until finally, a good hour, maybe even two, after he had begun this endless task, the strings of his self began to connect towards that which was inf front of him, and as soon as they touched his entire mind began to overflow with more intent than Cades had ever felt, it was not just intent, no, it was a tangible force that domineered something, the intent of something else, but beyond that force there was a glimpse he could see, beyond the endlessly thick and sturdy walls build by the golden shell there was a dying greenish light, but just as he glimpsed at it he made the slightest of mistakes and the entire intent that mantled the golden stone began to activate.
Cades tried to subvert the chain-reaction that had started as soon as he had entered the stone in which the active was contained, or rather, as soon as he had entered the active itself, but he couldn't, the intent of moving crept towards him at a great pace, though much slower than before, perhaps because Cades was currently intertwined with the intent already, perhaps because the intent itself was weakened after coming in contact with a foreign intent, Cades's intent.
Either way the intent was now already almost touching Cades, with his own intent despite his perception having been sped up in some way, or perhaps simply having been equalized, with his perception of time having been shattered, not being able to keep up, and so, after just what seemed like a moment but could be a second, a minute, a hour or anything between and beyond he turned around and looked at the weak greenish light that was slowly beginning to show signs of change, a change that Cades had already even expecting to see as he had already been capable of seeing from the outside that the greenish light was fading withing the golden marble.
He slowly watched, no, he did not see, instead it was more so that he perceived, as such he perceived as the greenish glow, the intent to stay as he was barely able to sense, a sense that might as well be completely off from what he could tell, which was basically nothing, and that very intent was now turning silver, it was turning into the other intent, as if melting into it, as if it was a small golden coin being molten into a thousand other golden coins to create golden bars or other kinds of golden coins, or, in this case enter him.
And then, before his intent, his self was able to even react, as if the instant was over, or perhaps as if the eternity was over, everything was back to normal and he was back in his body, as if he had never been outside, with the only difference being that his fingers were hurting after having clamped and cut into each other with his overly long fingernails that had been getting in the way with his sword-fighting lately and with his face being cramped for some, to him, unknown reason.
He was back in his body as if nothing had ever happened, but he felt weird, as if he didn't belong, or rather, as if he hadn't been, as if he had been part of the active that was now rummaging through his body, streaming through his arteries towards his bones and soon joining the engraving without engraving anything, no, it was simply there, like an invisible guardian waiting to be active, just as the name implied.
Just like that, with his head still dizzy, he had a new active, and as a price he would have to take a seat before he tried to throw up the non-existent food in his still starving stomach that he had subconsciously started to ignore at some point.
