Seeing Lynx floating calmly in the air, Pilaf and his crew froze—even forgetting to breathe.
A second later, all three screamed in unison:
"G-G-GHOST!!!"
Their screams were soon cut short as a ki blast tore through the night sky and punched a hole straight through their robot's armor.
BOOOOOOM!!!
Amid a shower of sparks and smoke, Pilaf, Shu, and Mai were blasted skyward again.
"I'll be back someday!!" Pilaf shouted as they vanished into the sky.
As silence returned to the ruined battlefield, Bulma jumped with joy:
"Lynx-niisan! We did it!"
Yamcha and the others, however, stood frozen in shock.
But no one noticed that young Goku's eyes had locked onto the full moon hanging above… and were slowly becoming vacant.
"ROOOOAAARR!!"
Suddenly, Goku let out a primal, beast-like roar—his body swelling at an alarming rate.
"Wha—what's happening to him?!"
"He's transforming," Lynx said with a sigh. Then he shouted, "Everyone get away! He's out of control!"
Grabbing Bulma, Lynx teleported them to safety, putting distance between them and the now fully transformed Great Ape Goku.
"Lynx-niisan! What's happening to Goku?! He's turned into a monster!" Bulma cried out.
"He looked at the full moon," Lynx explained. "When Saiyans see a full moon, they transform into giant apes and go berserk. Since Goku is still a child, he completely loses his mind in this state."
Bulma turned to Lynx, worry in her eyes:
"But Lynx-niisan… what about you?"
"Don't worry. I can control my transformation now—and I didn't look at the moon," Lynx reassured her.
"Then what about Goku?! What do we do?"
"Leave that to me."
With that, Lynx vanished again.
When he reappeared, he was standing right behind the enormous ape.
"Even as a Great Ape, his battle power is barely over 100… The protagonist aura really is something else."
Murmuring to himself, Lynx reached out and grabbed Goku's tail.
Though unconscious, Goku's instincts kicked in—he twisted around, raising his giant fist to crush Lynx.
THUD!
Lynx casually caught the massive fist with one hand. Then, tightening his grip—
SWOOSH!
Goku's tail was severed clean off.
The towering Great Ape form deflated like a balloon, shrinking rapidly until he returned to his normal childlike self—and immediately fell into a deep slumber.
"Lynx-niisan, are you okay?" Bulma rushed over.
"I'm fine. Let's get him a blanket or something before he catches cold."
Only then did Bulma notice: Goku was completely naked, lying on the ground.
At first, she feared the worst—but then she heard Goku snoring.
"So he's just sleeping…"
Crossing her arms, Bulma muttered:
"Goku once told me his Grandpa died at the hands of a monster… Could that monster have been… himself?"
"Most likely," Lynx nodded. "Even as a kid, a transformed Saiyan is not something normal humans can handle."
But then…
Gazing at the unconscious Goku—whose power level was still just barely over ten—Lynx suddenly had a thought.
The Goku of this timeline faced a future filled with powerful foes: Vegeta, who was already far stronger than in the original timeline, and even Raditz, whose current power level had surpassed 10,000.
Should I help Goku grow stronger, faster?
DING! "Host's hesitation regarding Goku's future detected. Activating [Ultimate Choice System]."
Option 1:Let Goku grow on his own. Reward: Universal training material "Ki Sensing Basics." +1 Time Point.
Option 2:Take Goku back to Planet Vegeta. Reward: Universal training manual "Kaio-ken."
Option 3:Personally train Goku for one year, raising his power level by 10,000. Reward: 1 vial of 100% Pure S-Cell Solution.
So… I get to decide Goku's fate?
Lynx smirked to himself.
Honestly, ever since returning and seeing how far Planet Vegeta had progressed, his interest in Earth's affairs had begun to fade.
Back then, he had insisted that Bardock send Goku to Earth, believing that Goku's future power—and his son Gohan's hybrid potential—might be key to bridging the Saiyan and Earthling bloodlines.
In Lynx.'s mind, if Planet Vegeta's progress ever stalled, Goku would be their final hope.
But now?
With the Saiyan race thriving and his own power soaring to the point where even a Super Saiyan 2 would struggle to match him, Goku's current strength felt almost… irrelevant.
Until Goku reached Super Saiyan 3 or beyond, he had little to offer Lynx or Planet Vegeta.
Earth's only remaining value to Lynx now… was nostalgia. Watching a beloved story unfold before his eyes, like a Dragon Ball fan seeing their favorite scenes play out live.
With that thought, Lynx made his decision:
"System, I choose Option 1."
Goku's growth would proceed naturally. Until he was strong enough to journey through space, Lynx would not interfere.
After all, Goku had always been the type to bloom late.
His early gains were modest, but through relentless battles and training, he laid the foundation for becoming the first Super Saiyan in generations.
If Lynx forced him ahead too fast, it could cripple that potential—like pulling a sprout before it can grow.
Let him grow on his own. That's the only way it will matter.
DING!
"Choice confirmed. Reward granted."
In Lynx's system space, a universal-format video training guide appeared, and his Time Points increased by 1.
Before long, Goku stirred and woke up from his sleep.
Groggy and confused, he noticed two things right away:
"Huh? Where'd my tail go? And… where are my clothes?!"
Yamcha and the others were about to make up a story to spare Goku from the painful truth.
But Lynx cut straight through the silence.
"You killed your Grandpa."
"Huh? I… I did?!"
Even someone as pure-hearted as Goku found that hard to accept.
"Lynx-niisan, that was too harsh!" Bulma snapped.
"No. It had to be said."
Lynx folded his arms and looked Goku dead in the eye:
"Goku, it happened because you were too weak. If you were strong enough, you could've maintained control even in your Great Ape form. Bottom line—you lack proper training."
Goku's fists clenched tightly.
And then, with fire in his eyes, he looked up at Lynx.
"Lynx-niisan… will you train me?"
