As Pilaf's voice fell, the seven Dragon Balls suddenly erupted with a blinding light that shot straight into the heavens.

BOOM! CRACK!

Golden lightning bolts, like furious serpents of electricity, came crashing down from the black night sky, striking the seven Dragon Balls.

ROOOOAAAR!

A mighty dragon's roar echoed across the heavens, and soon, the green, serpentine form of Shenron appeared above them in the sky.

"You who have gathered the Dragon Balls... state your wish. I shall grant any desire you have…"

His deep, resonant voice rang through the desolate plains like a thunderclap.

Everyone present—almost all seeing Shenron for the very first time—stood frozen in shock, their mouths agape in silence.

But Pilaf quickly regained his senses, and with trembling excitement, he opened his mouth to declare his wish.

However, at that very moment, a figure suddenly descended from the sky and casually waved his hand toward Pilaf's group.

A powerful gust of wind swept up out of nowhere and sent Pilaf, Shu, and Mai spiraling into the sky like leaves in a storm—blown completely out of the scene.

The figure then extended a hand toward the approaching Oolong and Puar, who were rushing toward the Dragon Balls.

A surge of invisible energy blasted them backward, sending the pair tumbling back toward the castle.

"Huh? Who was that?!"

"What's going on?!"

"What just happened?!"

Hearing the strange noises from outside, the group trapped inside the dungeon—who had all but lost hope—scrambled toward the small hole Goku had made in the wall, trying to get a look outside.

The three of them crammed together at the opening and focused their eyes on the mysterious figure in the sky.

"That's…"

Tears welled up in Bulma's eyes.

Even from afar, she recognized that familiar silhouette.

It's him!

He's back!

The one who had chased off Pilaf's group and stopped Oolong and Puar was none other than Lynx.

In the original timeline, the wish made to Shenron was famously wasted by Oolong's hasty request for a pair of panties. Lynx had no intention of letting that happen again.

And as it so happened, Lynx had a wish of his own in mind.

Floating before Shenron, he spoke clearly:

"Shenron, I want to ask: Can you make someone immortal?"

"Immortality is something even gods cannot grant. That wish is beyond my power."

Just as Lynx had expected.

Shenron had limits. True immortality was likely outside the scope of any Earth-bound dragon.

Lynx had hoped to make himself and those he cared about immortal, but it was always a long shot. Fortunately, he had backup plans.

"Then, is there any way you can help someone extend their lifespan?"

"In the underworld, there exists a spring called the Fountain of Eternity. Its waters are used by gods to create immortality elixirs. For mortals, drinking it can significantly extend their life."

"The Fountain of Eternity? Perfect. That's what I want."

"That wish is simple."

A moment later, Shenron's eyes glowed red—and from the sky, a silver flask descended gently into Lynx's hands.

Lynx opened it and saw a clear, odorless liquid inside. With care, he judged that it held enough for three to five people—a sip each.

"Your wish has been granted. Farewell."

With that, Shenron's body reformed into the seven Dragon Balls, which spun through the sky before scattering across the world once again.

Lynx placed the flask into his system storage, then turned to look at the castle that still held Goku and the others captive.

Since he had revealed himself, he figured—why not say hello?

Smiling slightly, Lynx flew toward the castle.

Seeing him approach, Oolong and Puar panicked. They quickly transformed into animals and scurried back through the hole into the dungeon.

"Trouble! That weirdo's coming for us!" Oolong screamed as he reverted to his normal form.

"Relax," Bulma said, her tears gone and face now calm. "I know him."

Moments later, the wall crumbled apart—and Lynx floated into the prison chamber.

"Hello, everyone."

"Lynx-niisan!"

Poom!

Bulma lunged at him, intending to throw herself into his arms—but Lynx gently caught her and placed her back on the ground.

Patting her head like he used to, Lynx said with a smile:

"Bulma, it's been a long time."

"Lynx-niisan, I'm not a little girl anymore," she pouted.

Lynx chuckled but said nothing, shifting his gaze to the others.

Having witnessed how easily he had blown apart a wall and chased off Pilaf's forces, Yamcha, Oolong, and Puar all greeted him with tremendous respect, standing stiff with tension.

But Goku, curious and innocent, stepped forward.

"Big bro, you're amazing! I hit that wall with everything I had and only made a tiny hole—but you smashed it wide open!"

"With training, you can do it too," Lynx replied kindly.

"Training? But I've been training ever since Grandpa died. …Wait! You have a tail too!"

Goku suddenly pointed in surprise at Lynx's waist.

"Is that a real tail?!"

"That's right."

Lynx unwrapped the furry tail from his waist and swayed it in the air behind him.

"Just like you, I'm a Saiyan."

"Saiyan?"

"Wh-What?! They're aliens?!"

Yamcha, Oolong, and Puar all backed up, pressed against the wall.

Little Goku, though, just stared at Lynx in confusion.

Suddenly—

BOOM BOOM BOOM!

Loud rumbling came from the distance.

Bulma stepped through the hole and peeked outside—then immediately pulled back in alarm.

"Lynx-niisan! They're back!"

Outside the castle, a giant robot was charging at full speed.Inside it were the previously ejected Pilaf, Shu, and Mai, eyes bloodshot with rage.

"Give me back my dream of world domination!!"

Pilaf screamed as he slammed a red button on the console.

The robot raised its right arm—revealing a massive cannon barrel.

BOOM!

A shell fired straight at the castle.

"Get down!" Yamcha shouted, tackling Puar to the ground.

Oolong shoved his butt into Yamcha's back, trying to squeeze into his arms.

But Lynx, Bulma, and Goku didn't move an inch.

Bulma trusted Lynx.Goku… had no idea what a cannon was.

Then—

KRAKOOM!!!

The blast exploded on impact. In an instant, the towering castle was reduced to rubble.

"HAHAHAHA!! AHAHAHAHA!!"

Pilaf cackled madly at the scene.

Behind him, Shu and Mai were nearly in tears.

"But Lord Pilaf! All our money was still in that castle…"

"Shut up! I don't care about money! I just want them DEAD!!"

But just as Pilaf finished his sentence, his eyes went wide with disbelief.

Shu and Mai gasped, jaws dropping as they stared at the monitor.

From the ruins of the obliterated castle, Lynx floated up, completely unharmed.
