"Take who to me, what is going on here" a matured woman with a figure that reflects her age said loudly walking towards the scene.
The crowd open up space for her to pass and she walked through it to where Elisa stood.
She glanced at Madeline with the corner of her eyes, turning to face to older girl waiting for a reply.
"Olivia said she saw this girl trying to open her room door and accused her of being a thief so I suggested to bring her to you" the older girl said respectfully.
The mature looking woman turned to Elisa her sharp piercing eyes gazing at Elisa, "who are you" she asked scanning Elisa's appearance in realization.
"I..my name is Elisa and I didn't try to steal any I promise I didn't, I was just.." her words were interrupted.
"You.. you're the girl with the silver hair that they told me about, you were sent by Lady Brenda weren't you" madam maltida said in realization looking at her white hair then her eyes fell on her face, 'what a beauty' she thought in her head, secretly shaking her head feeling sorry for the girl, 'such a face would destroy her in a place like this' she thought.
Elisa looked at the woman not knowing what to reply she was indeed sent by a woman but she didn't know her name, looking around she decided to agree with her, that was the only way to escape from this predicament.
"Yes" she replied meekly.
"As expected" Madam maltida said turning to face the older girl.
"Kiara" she called making the girl turn to her, "take her to a free room, prepare her neccessary items and orient her" she said to the older girl with the name kiara then turned to the crowd.
"Y'all can leave, get back to what you were doing and next time if such a situation happens the first person you should call is me, none of you have the right to make decisions without my knowledge and try giving the person a fair hearing next time, who knows what would have happened if I didn't come" she said to the crowd sternly with a disapproving gaze.
"Now leave quickly" she said to them and they all scurried away, but a particular girl gaze lingered on Elisa for a longer time with interest before turning around and leaving.
Left with only Kiara, madam maltida and Elisa in the hallway, "I will leave her to you now" madam maltida said before turning around and left.
Kiara turned to look the girl with silver hair and a very beautiful face, she took in the girl's face with a raised brow, 'wasn't she took pretty' she thought looking at her with scrutiny.
The more she looked at her the more she wondered if she was human, humans weren't normally this pretty and the hair..., her silver hair confirmed her doubt of her not being human, 'humans couldn't possibly have such beautiful hair' she thought looking at her closely she wondered which creature she could be, she highly doubted the girl could be a vampire so she started checking other options when the sound of something falling brought her back to reality.
Coming back to the present she looked in that direction but saw nothing, "it must've been a rat" she to Elisa whose eyes lingered on the place.
"Let's go" she said walking ahead and Elisa followed her quickly.
Elisa followed behind the girl closely, she looked at her back as they walked, she was wearing a long sleeved black dresses that extend to her ankles, the dress had a simple and modest design with high necklines and fitted bodices. Over their dresses, they wear grey pinafore-style aprons. This aprons had wide shoulder straps that cross over the chest and are adorned with subtle ruffle trimming to it.
Looking at the design of the gown Elisa suddenly realized something, 'the greys, her grey apron! she had also remembered that the other girls also had similar designs to hers with some having more of grey standing out while others were different, some of them were even grey and white while others grey and black but one thing was certain they all had grey.
Where their clothes used to recognize them?, was she still a slave but dressed in a different outfit?' she thought her heart sinking in her chest.
'She had thought she wasn't going to be a slave anymore but it's seems she was never running away from it" she thought feeling a pang of pain in her chest.
"Hi I'm Kiara by name, and you are now part of the greys, the Lord's personal maids in waiting, we are to serve the Lord with everything we have, our major aim is satisfying the Lord and no one else, you are not entitled to serving anymore else and if you decide to serve them it should be by choice" she said, saying the last part word for word making sure she understood it clearly.
"They are certain rules we all have to follow as the Lord's personal maids and they are, 1. You aren't allowed to leave the palace without the permission of proper authority like Madam maltida the woman from earlier, 2. You are not..." her voice trailed as she listed the do's and don't in the palace.
