Elisa listened to her every word keenly until she stopped in front of the door, "and lastly all maids are given break twice a year to go visit their family but since you were originally brought here to be a slave, I don't know if it also applies to you" she said raising her hand to knock on the door they stood in front of.
"Do you have a family" Kiara asked looking at Elisa.
Elisa opened her mouth to reply when the door opened welcoming a young girl, the girl who defended her earlier to be exact, "this is Ema, she will be your new roommate, try to get along, remember fighting is also against our rules here" she said to Elisa.
"If there's nothing else, I will take my leave" she continued turning around to leave when Elisa stopped her.
"Wait" she said and the girl turned to face her, "earlier when we were in that big hall I didn't see any matured women there, weren't they also brought here along with us" she asked timidly.
"Ohh they have a separate place they take them to, they won't join the slaves but do other works in the palace" she replied to Elisa.
"Seperate room where? and which other works" Elisa asked anxiously.
"I don't know, I'm not very familiar in that aspect but I know they are normally turned to general servants to perform different works in the palace" she said with a shrugged shoulder.
"What, why are you asking?" Kiara asked seeing how concerned she was about the matter.
"My mother.." she said weakly her eyes drooping.
"Ohh, don't worry she will be fine, they won't harm her or else she disobey the rules here" Kiara replied in consolidation.
"But how can I find her" Elisa said tears gathering in her eyes.
"You will find her once everything has calmed down, when they have all been placed in their different works and things have started running smoothly" she replied back in a soothing voice.
"Okay thank you" Elisa thanked her feeling sincerely grateful to her.
"You're welcome, I will send someone to bring clothes for you, then later a tailor will come and take your measurement to sew your uniform" she told Elisa before leaving finally.
Elisa turned to face the girl by the name Ema at the door who looked back at her, she gave way for her and Elisa entered the room to be met with a big spacious room with two bed, each at the corner of the room.
Beside each bed was a small cupboard, bedside table and a mini wardrobe. Elisa was shocked at how high the ceiling in this room was, it was so high it made the room look very big.
"Welcome here, I'm Ema" the girl said introducing herself to Elisa with her hand stretched out for a hand shake and Elisa complied.
"I'm Elisa" she said as they disconnected their hands.
"This is my bed, you can take the other one" she said pointing to her own on the right then the other one on the left, Elisa walked to her bed and sat down on it.
Raising her head to meet with the girls gaze creating an awkward moment, clearing her throat, "so where are you from" Ema asked trying to smoothen the air.
"I'm from birarhood, but our neighboring village had attacked us resulting to me ending up here.
"How were you brought here" Elisa asked continueing the conversation.
"I was sold to the Lord by my step mother, but I didn't meet the Lord's criteria to become his personal slave so I joined his personal maid instead.
Thinking about the Lord, Elisa frowned remembering what had happened earlier.
"What are the requirements to join his personal slaves" Elisa asked curiously.
