"T-this can't be real...w-whats happening," A young man with short black hair and matching eyes spoke aloud as the world around him was falling apart.
Dozens of people were being killed and taken by monsters —fantasy creatures that one would see in a game: orcs, goblins, Nagas, dire wolves, vampires.
Watching this and seeing the chaos around him, he could not help but smile. Ever since he was young, Kain had found the world boring. In his eyes, there were too many rules that limited people from embracing their true nature.
But now, as the chaos took over his peaceful life, he felt alive for the first time.
"Yes...this is what I have been missing, the absolute chaos," Kain laughed.
"But before I can enjoy it, I should find somewhere safe," Kain joked as he ran away from a group of goblins.
Looking back at the group, he could see them getting closer to him.
"Good thing I'm still close to my house," Kain said as he picked up his pace.
Running at full speed, Kain took alleyways and shortcuts to try to lose the goblins while making his way home. As he turned a corner, he could see his apartment complex, but it was in complete shambles.
"Is that a fucking dragon?" Kain asked sarcastically as he looked at the giant red dragon coiled around his apartment
"Well, there goes that plan," Kain sighed as he ducked back into the alleyway.
Opening his bookbag, he reached in and pulled out a pair of brass knuckles.
"People called me weird for having these. Who's the weird one now?" Kain said as he put them on.
Stepping out of the alleyway, he began making his way to his school, but before he could walk a few steps, a pair of goblins around four feet tall holding clubs saw him.
Not wasting any time, Kain charged at them. Seeing that the goblins screamed before running at him. When they reached each other, both goblins swung their clubs at Kain. But seeing their large, readable movements, Kain dodged to the side and punched one of the goblins in the head, knocking it to the floor.
With a grin, he picked up the club of the fallen goblin. Twisting his body, he swung the club at the other goblin's head. As it made contact, the sound of bone being broken would be heard as the goblin fell to the floor, limp.
Turning back to the goblin on the floor, still holding its head, Kain dropped the club and grabbed the goblin by the neck. With a crazed smile, he began relentlessly punching the goblin, over and over.
As the goblin went limp in his hand and blood covered his fist and face, Kain dropped the goblin and picked up the club.
"That was easier than I expected...but the thrill from it is so amazing," Kain laughed.
Continuing to make his way to the school, Kain continued to kill pairs of single goblins while avoiding the larger groups. With every kill, Kain felt a sense of thrill and excitement he hadn't felt in a long time.
After his tenth kill, Kain was about to keep going when he heard a metallic voice ring out in his head.

Looking at the floating blue screens before him, Kain could not help but stop in surprise.
"What the hell is this?" Kain asked as he turned the corner

"A status screen, player, this is becoming more like a fucking novel," Kain laughed.
"And if this is like those novels, I'm already twice as strong as the average person. Well, now things are really getting fun," Kain said, continuing forward.
"Since I'm the first to awaken, I will make sure I stay ahead of everyone else. Especially if I want to live however I want," Kain grinned.
With newfound thrill to fight, Kain walked towards his school this time, wanting to find a large group of goblins to fight.
As he made his way to the school, Kain heard the sounds of screaming further up the street. Ducking behind a car, he looked over to see a group of 5 people surrounded by ten goblins.
"ten...that might be pushing it...so fuck it, lets have some fun,"
Standing up, Kain grabbed a rock, aiming at the closest goblin, and threw it with all his force. To his surprise and the shock of the goblins, the one that was hit fell to the floor with blood leaking from its head.

"I guess having over twenty in strength is more than I thought,"
Seeing their comrade killed in one hit, the goblins all screamed in anger as they charged at Kain. Clenching one of his clubs, Kain launched it at the charging group at full force.
As the flying club got closer, the first goblin dodged it, but the second goblin that couldn't see it had its head blown off and collided with two more goblins, knocking them to the ground.
Rushing forward, Kain launched a punch at the first goblin, caving in its chest, launching it back. Not stopping, Kain grabbed the club of the goblin that tried to sneak attack him and used it to bash its skull in. But as he did, another goblin hit him in his back, causing him to buckle.
Turning around, Kain was visibly pissed as he used his club and swung at the goblin's body, breaking its arm and sending it back a few meters. Standing up, he walked up to the remaining three that could still fight. But before he could get close, they all ran away, leaving their comrades.
"Oh no...you don't get to run away now," Kain yelled as he threw a club at full speed, killing one of the goblins.
Grabbing another club, he was about to throw it when the goblin turned the corner.
"Speedy little shit," Kain sighed as the goblin got away.
Walking up to the two injured goblins struggling to move, Kain stepped on their head with a grin. With his anger slightly satisfied, he began walking up to the group of people.
"T-thank you, we would have died without you," one of the women said with teary eyes.
"Yes, I don't know how we can repay you," a man said, shaking Kain's hand while bowing.g
"It seems you are mistaken," Kain said, looking down at the man.
"I didn't kill them to save you. I killed them so I could test out a theory," Kain said with a grin as he brought down his club on the man's skull, killing him instantly.y

"AHHHHHHH!" A girl screamed, seeing Kain kill the man
"Y-you killed him! Why did you kill him?" one of the other men asked while backing up
"Oh, because I wanted to. What other reason do I need?' Kain grinned before charging at the man and caving his chest in with the club.
