Emmiel
The next morning, I was woken up by a maid to find myself in my room. I don't remember much of how I'd gotten here but honestly, I didn't want to recall the events from last night with alpha Lopen.
It literally made my skin crawl.
"I don't mean to disturb your sleep, Emmiel" The maid begins. "But, Alpha Lopen said we should prepare you as you would be joining him to work today"
Oh, right. There was that. "It's not a problem. Thank you"
"Right across the bed are the outfit he'd picked out himself. He said you should be ready in thirty minutes"
With that said, the maid walked out of my room. Staring down at the outfit on my bed, I noticed Lopen had picked out a classy outfit.
"I guess he has the intent to show me off" I muttered, displeased.
Springing up from the bed, I took a shower, dropped on the all-brown suit and joined Lopen downstairs.
As I descended from the stairs, Lopen's gaze never left mine. "Putting you in a good outfit was all it took to turn the frog into a prince"
What a way to describe me! But I guess an omega like me was even lower than a frog.
"Thank you for the clothe" I greet. "I'll make sure to wash it and—"
Lopen laughed hysterically. "And give it to whom? When I give you something, it's yours. Everything in this mansion belongs to you, Emmiel"
He said it but it didn't feel that way.
"Thank you for considering me worthy of your household, Alpha"
Lopen leans back against the dining couch. "Would you like to eat before we leave?"
Eat. The last time he'd made use of that word, I was the one almost eaten.
Shaking my head, I respond. "I'm not hungry"
Lopen shrugs, springing up from his chair. "If you say so. Just don't go passing out after one round of sex like last night"
I stilled. I passed out? Was that why he'd taken me back to my room?
It didn't matter. I didn't want to recall anything about last night. Nothing at all.
"Let's go" Lopen commands as we walked out of the mansion to his car outside the front lawn.
Beta Davin stood by the side of the car. Was he coming with us too?
Davin bows his head before Lopen. "I've never been one to question your actions, Alpha but you've just been targeted. I don't think it's safe for you to go back to work already"
Lopen chuckled. "I'm not one to run away, Davin. I've never been"
"I know, it's just—"
"Enough, Davin. Your concerns are unnecessary" Lopen states. "Emmiel, get in the car"
I do as told. After a while, Lopen climbs into the car and drives off without saying a word.
Could it be something Beta Davin had told him rang truth in his ears? I couldn't even say a word to make him feel better when I was equally kept in the dark regarding this whole situation.
"We've arrived" Lopen says, breaking the ice as the car comes to a halt infront of a place called Viren industries.
Reaching out for my hands, Lopen holds it tightly. "You don't have to be afraid. I'm with you" I nod. "Let's go in"
We climbed down from the car and walked into Lopen's company.
The place was buzzing with people. Each and every one of them was out and about doing one thing or the other.
But as soon as Lopen and I walked in, their attention was fixed on us.
"Greetings, Alpha Lopen" They chorused in unison.
Lopen nods curtly, admonishing their greetings. "Vassel, Thera" He calls. "Come with me"
A young sturdy man and average height lanky woman stepped out of the crowd as they trailed after Lopen and I.
The rest of the crowd got busy with whatever they'd been doing before our intrusion.
On getting to a small room upstairs, Lopen takes his seat as Vassel and Thera sit right across from us.
"How have things been in here?" Lopen asks.
"We haven't gotten any new work" Vassel, the young sturdy man speaks up. "There are rumors going about you getting married. Is it true?"
Lopen nods, pointing at me. "This is Emmiel. My soon-to-be wife. Emmiel would also be my hand-in-hand partner so I brought him here today to learn the hoops of the business. I hope you and Thera can guide him well"
Vassel and Thera lowers themselves to their knees infront of me, paying their respect.
Never had I been bowed before to. The taste of power and respect I got from being tagged as "Lopen's wife" started to sink in.
"Please, rise up to your feet" I stuttered.
Rising up, Vassel introduced himself first. "I'm Beta Vassel. I oversee the company's business whenever Alpha Lopen works from home"
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Vassel"
"I'm Omega Thera" The lanky woman introduced. "I'm the company's strategist. I plan out how every job is to be executed once it's accepted and by Alpha Lopen"
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Thera"
"Vassel. Thera" Lopen called out. "Bring out the past jobs the company has taken and give Emmiel and I the room alone"
They do as instructed and once the documents was brought forth, Lopen tossed it towards me. "Open it"
With trembling hands, I reached out for the document and opened it. The image at the first page made me puke.
Shutting the book, I rushed out of the room to take some fresh air but Lopen pulls me back by the hair "You really are weak, Emmiel. What? You can't stand the sight of some blood?"
Tears rolled down my cheeks at the magnitude of force Lopen used to pull my hair. "It hurts.."
"Answer me if you wish me to stop"
"Why?" I asked. "You kill people for money and then keep pictures of their mutilated body parts. Why? I just don't get it"
"Because it's thrilling" Lopen snarles. "Because I can do whatever I want and no one would be able to counter me. This is the world you are stepping into, Wife. I hope you're ready to spice up your boring life abit"
