Chapter 15 - Chapter 31-35

Chapter 31: Confronting the Darkness

As we stood facing the magical dragons, now fiercer and more aggressive than ever, I realized I wasn't just fighting for survival anymore, but for something much greater. This battle was not just against creatures, but against an ancient darkness that threatened to swallow everything.

"These aren't just magical creatures… they are embodiments of the forces working against us," Lilia said, trying to breathe slowly, her expression serious.

It was clear that the darkness surrounding us wasn't just an evil force, but something much older, something that had existed in this dimension for thousands of years. The dragons were only soldiers in the army of these hidden entities.

"If we want to escape, we need to close the gate!" the general shouted.

But before I could respond, a massive image of darkness appeared before us, blocking our sight. It was the distorted image of the leader of the ancient creatures, one of the enemies we had heard about in legends. It was a half-covered spirit of immense power, the other half taking the form of a hideous creature made of magical energy.

The booming voice spoke:

"You are mere intruders in this place... Don't think you can escape or even stand against me."

"We will challenge you!" I said firmly, trying to keep my composure. I knew this was not just a test of our strength, but of our determination.

Suddenly, the general made a surprising move, summoning his magical sword, which began to glow with a blue light.

"We need to create a breach in their defenses. We will need all our strength now!"

Though it was a great risk, he was the only one eager to fight till the end. Meanwhile, I, with my ability to copy Lilia's powers, tried to amplify my magical energy to fend off the incoming attack.

At that moment, Lilia launched a powerful magical beam from her staff, reflecting the blue light. The light scattered and illuminated the area, but the magical creatures didn't retreat. On the contrary, I felt something strange in the air, as if they were feeding on our strength.

"They are feeding off our power!" Lilia said, her face growing more pale.

Just when everyone thought the battle was nearing its end, something strange happened.

Suddenly, as though at the heart of a storm, an invisible yet terrifying force appeared. It was unfamiliar energy, but I felt it clearly. The universe itself seemed to shake, as if we had entered another dimension.

"This is it! The gate that connects us to them!" Lilia cried, pointing her staff at the open gateway in the sky.

The energy gate was unraveling, trying to close us in.

"If we close this gate, we won't be able to return to our world!" the general shouted.

But we had no choice. If we didn't close the gate now, the darkness would consume us forever.

At that moment, just as the darkness was about to descend upon us, I felt something inside me. I felt my unique ability to copy skills, and I knew exactly what to do.

"No!" I shouted, raising my hand and using my power to copy the ability that would allow me to reopen the magical gate but in reverse. This attack required immense energy, but we had to take one final step.

As the dragons and darkness attacked from all sides, I used my copied magical powers from Lilia and launched an amplified magical beam with energy I didn't think I had.

We succeeded in pushing them back, but I knew this was just the beginning.

Chapter 32: The Consequences

When the storm suddenly calmed, I found myself in a completely different place. The darkness had retreated from our world, but I wasn't at ease. The atmosphere was strange, as if the darkness hadn't fully vanished, but had only been temporarily pushed back.

Suddenly, I felt something pounce on me from behind. I spun around quickly, but I couldn't avoid the attack. Shadowy figures appeared before me, binding me in their grip. I tried to escape, but the chains were too strong.

"You are now in my grasp," said the ominous voice.

It was the moment I realized that darkness might not be defeated so easily, but our hope of survival lay in our persistence to confront it.

Chapter 33: The Ancient Shadows

I was in the grasp of darkness, the surrounding shadows suffocating me. I tried to breathe deeply, but even the air seemed scarce in this place, as if I were trapped in a shroud of thick darkness. I felt something strange inside me, a new sensation, the feeling that I might not be alone in this fight.

"You cannot escape, there is no safe place," said the voice that seemed to come from everywhere and yet from nowhere. The words were heavy, as if pulling me toward the abyss.

The shadows around me radiated dark energy, but I felt something else—something strange deep within me, a power I had forgotten. The darkness was dominating, yet at the same time, it was awakening something inside me, something dark as well, but deep and silent.

Suddenly, Lilia's hand moved toward me, her hands glowing with faint magical energy. She smiled at me, despite her pale features.

"Don't lose hope, Eyad. We still have more power we haven't used yet."

It was then that I realized what the general had told me earlier wasn't just encouraging words. I did possess a power that could be the key to confronting this darkness. Every skill I had copied from the beginning was a gathering of energy I could use to our advantage, but I hadn't fully understood the depth of that ability.

The shadows around us writhed as if they were living creatures, but I began to understand something about my power. I suddenly turned, extended my hand with all my might, and released a massive magical beam toward the shadows.

"It's now or never!" I said with a firm tone.

But what happened was unexpected. When my power touched the darkness, it reacted strangely, not destroying it, but merging with it, as if I had lit a light in the heart of the darkness. For a moment, I saw before me a shadowy figure, human-like, its face distorted and covered in pain, but I understood one thing: the darkness was not only an enemy, it was a prison for an ancient spirit, a spirit that had been trapped in this place for ages.

"Who are you?" I asked softly.

"I am... the ancient shadow, trapped here for eons," the voice said, low and filled with suffering.

I released more magical energy, trying to push it away, but I suddenly stopped when I felt something strange. There was a deep force inside me that illuminated the way.

"If you're a prisoner, you need help, don't you?" I asked it.

The shadow was silent for a moment, then answered:

"You are the only one who can free me... but you will have to pay a heavy price."

I wasn't sure about these words, but something inside me told me that I had to help it.

Chapter 34: The Price of Freedom

Before I could think about what to do, a massive dark creature appeared before us, resembling the dragons we had fought before, but it was far more terrifying. It had twisted wings and a dark body emitting faint light from the magical energies surrounding it.

"You… are just a puppet in my hands!" the deep voice shouted as the creature approached quickly.

"You must open the gate now!" the general said with a disoriented voice, struggling to stand.

But I felt something strange, something deeper within. I gradually realized that the battle against darkness would not be just a fight with magical weapons. The real battle was within each of us.

"You will not darken this world any longer!" I shouted, releasing an enormous amount of energy toward the dark creature, forcing it to retreat for a moment, halting its attack. It was clear my copying ability had grown, but I couldn't keep using it forever.

At that moment, Lilia rushed in front of me, pointing her staff at the shadows. She focused all her energy into one massive movement.

"I won't let you pass!" Lilia said as she exerted a tremendous effort. I felt the destructive power of her energy surge, targeting the heart of the dark creature.

As the darkness gradually began to collapse, I felt something strange pulling me toward that power I had discovered within. My energy flowed like a rushing river.

"Eyad, you are the only one who can stop it now!" Lilia said, her voice strained from the magical exhaustion.

The time had come. I turned toward the dark creature, which was about to disappear, then finally tried to merge my energy with Lilia's and unleashed a joint, massive attack.

Suddenly, the ground beneath us began to shake, and the energy swirled around us in a massive vortex, pushing the darkness away.

Chapter 35: A New Horizon

As the lights faded in the sky, the darkness slowly receded, making way for the faint rays of sunlight beginning to break through the scattered clouds. We had managed to push the darkness away, but it hadn't been easy.

We all sat down on the ground, exhausted but alive. There was a strange feeling in the air, as if something new was beginning in this world.

"We did it," Lilia said weakly, but with a smile.

But I knew one thing for sure: the battle wasn't over yet.
