Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 Starting My Buisness

In the afternoon, Eddie arrived at the Coumarine Gym smoothly and did not encounter any accidents on the way.

In fact, Eddie came to Ramos this time not just to visit Ramos and borrow books; he also had a business to discuss with Ramos.

In addition to planting, Uncle Ramos has another hobby, which is drinking tea, so when Eddie went to see him, he was sitting leisurely in the garden sipping tea.

As long as no one comes to the Gym to challenge him, Master Ramos lives a very leisurely life.

"Grandpa Ramos, good afternoon." Eddie waved and greeted Grandpa Ramos.

Mr. Ramos nodded, motioned Eddie to sit opposite him, and then poured him a cup of tea.

Eddie put the basket in his hand on the table, sniffed the tea fragrance, and couldn't help but pick up the teacup and take a sip.

"Good tea! Is it new tea?"

Although Eddie didn't know much about tea, he could tell the difference between good and bad. This tea had a long sip, a mellow and smooth taste, and a lasting flavor. After the light bitter taste ended, a refreshing feeling that made people feel relaxed and refreshed slowly seeped out of their mouths...

Uncle Ramos said with a smile: "You understand again?" It was not the first time that he invited Eddie to have tea, but this boy was like a cow chewing a peony every time, not elegant at all.

Eddie chuckled, then shook his head, not pretending to know when he didn't.

Mr. Ramos looked at the basket of fruit on the table and asked, "Are the fruits you cultivated beginning to mature? How is the quality of the fruits?"

"Not bad." Eddie said confidently, and then showed the test results he had prepared in advance to Mr. Ramos, "Here are the test results, take a look."

Mr. Ramos took the test results nonchalantly, glanced at them casually, and then widened his eyes slightly.

This time, Eddie put the test results of B-level Berries at the top, so Master Ramos was most directly affected.

Although Master Ramos always felt that Eddie had a talent for planting, he never expected that he would be so talented. He cultivated B-level Berries in just one year. If he was given a few more years, then...

Ramos couldn't even think about it. He was suddenly very glad that he had discovered Eddie more than a year ago and given him the conditions to grow. Otherwise, wouldn't such a valuable talent be buried in vain? That would be a huge loss for the Alliance.

Master Ramos suppressed the shock in his heart, looked at Eddie with a half-smile and said, "It seems that you came prepared today. Tell me your purpose."

Hearing this, Eddie's expression immediately became serious. He sat up straight, looked straight at Master Ramos and said solemnly:

"Money, I need money now, so I hope Grandpa Ramos can lend me some money."

Uncle Ramos suddenly realized that if Eddie wanted to achieve something in planting, it would not work just by doing small things like now. But with his current conditions, he could not achieve his goal by himself.

Now that he is able to cultivate B-grade Berries, he is indeed qualified to ask others to invest in him, but this is definitely not the result Eddie wants. He certainly does not want others to interfere with his career.

So he just wanted to borrow money.

Although he was optimistic about Eddie, Ramos did not directly agree to lend him money. If Eddie wanted to get him to invest, he would definitely agree without hesitation, but if he just wanted to borrow money, he would have to think about it.

"I do have money, but you have to give me a reason to lend it to you," said Mr. Ramos.

Eddie was well prepared. He replied, "I now have a total of 37 fruit trees, each of which can produce B-level Berries. And now is only the first time they have borne fruit. I believe that as long as they continue to be cultivated, they will definitely produce A-level fruit in the future."

"I am now using these thirty-seven fruit trees as collateral. If I cannot pay back the money in the future, all these fruit trees will be yours."

More than 30 fruit trees that can produce B-grade Berries are extremely valuable, representing almost an endless source of wealth. Almost no one would be stupid enough to sell fruit trees of this level.

Now they have become collateral in Eddie's hands. Who told Eddie that this is the only bargaining chip he has now?

Upon hearing this, Mr. Ramos nodded with satisfaction: "Okay, I agree to lend it to you." Since Eddie said so, he had no reason to refuse.

If Eddie's business is successful, he can earn interest. If Eddie's business fails, he can get a batch of valuable fruit trees. It's a win-win situation.

"Youth are really formidable!" Looking at the ten-year-old boy in front of him, who even had baby fat on his face, Mr. Ramos sighed sincerely, "How much do you want to borrow?"

Eddie took out the contract he had prepared in advance and said, "Five million!"

Master Ramos looked at Eddie with a little surprise: "You borrowed so much at one time? It seems that you are really confident in yourself."

Eddie replied: "Time is money. If I didn't have confidence, I wouldn't be asking you this today."

Mr. Ramos nodded and said nothing more. Instead, he took the contract handed over by Eddie and read it carefully.

Eddie was very well prepared. He prepared this contract after conducting research for a long time and consulting many people.

After looking at it for a while, Mr. Ramos found nothing wrong and signed his name.

There are two copies of the contract; Eddie and Ramos each keep one copy after signing. In addition, they also need to notarize it at the relevant department, otherwise the contract will not be legally effective. After signing the contract, Mr. Ramos took a fruit from the basket and tasted it. He then said with understanding: "No wonder you are so confident in yourself. This fruit is really good."

An expert like Mr. Ramos, who has rich planting experience, can roughly judge the value of the fruit by just his mouth, even without looking at the test results.

The two chatted for a while. Eddie returned the book in his hand to the study, picked up a few more books, and then left the Coumarine Gym.

After returning home, Eddie told Director Eleanor that he planned to buy a piece of land to plant fruit trees and that he had borrowed some money from Mr. Ramos, but he did not reveal how much money he had borrowed because he was afraid of scaring Director Eleanor.

Five million! Even if you sell the entire orphanage, you may not be able to get five million.

But even so, Eleanor was still very worried about Eddie, fearing that Eddie would not be able to pay back the money in the future. However, she did not express her worries but encouraged Eddie to work hard. She knew that Eddie was a capable child, so she chose to believe him.

The next day, Eddie started to get busy. Now that he had money, the first thing he had to do was to buy a piece of land of his own. Without land, he couldn't expand the scale of planting, and his fruit trees were no longer suitable for growing in the crowded small orchard of the orphanage.

Because the eastern district of Coumarine City is close to the long mountain range, there are many unowned mountains nearby, both large and small, scattered all over the place. Eddie plans to choose one from them and buy it.

The Pokémon world is vast and sparsely populated, and there are large tracts of land that have not been used and developed. Therefore, the price of land is much cheaper than in Eddie's previous life, especially in the wilderness far away from urban areas or cities.

In some places, in order to stimulate economic development, the Alliance will even encourage individuals to purchase land.

And once the land here is purchased, it truly belongs to you, not just the right to use it.

Of course, if you don't have enough money, you can rent a piece of land first. But Eddie won't do that, because renting a piece of land for a long time is not as cost-effective as buying it directly.

In a blink of an eye, several days passed. Eddie had been running around departments and handling formalities. Finally, everything was arranged, and the money from Mr. Ramos arrived.

In the end, Eddie bought a relatively flat hill near the Coumarine Gym, which was neither too big nor too small, and he spent a total of more than four million.

The five million that he had just borrowed seemed to have evaporated, and most of it was gone in an instant, but Eddie was happy in his heart, because he had finally taken the first step in his career!

For the next period of time, whenever Eddie had time, he would take Selene and Popplio to clean up their territory and clear away the weeds, trees, gravel, and other things on the mountain.

This took more than two months.

In order to save money, he did not ask anyone for help and relied entirely on himself and Selene. As for the Popplio, it was not easy to move on the shore and could only be used to make up the numbers.

Fortunately, Selene's superpowers were very powerful and took on most of the workload. It was also because she had become stronger now. In the past, they didn't know how long they would have to work.

Of course, Eddie has only cleared out a small part at present, which is enough to transplant the 37 fruit trees in the orphanage. The rest will be developed slowly later.

The children in the orphanage also offered to go over to help, but Eddie refused.

They are too young and don't know how to protect themselves. The new territory is some distance away from where people live, and there are even wild Pokémon that often appear. It would be bad if they encountered danger.

During these two months, most of Eddie's remaining fruits matured and were sold by him one after another. The majority of them were bought by Naomi and her classmates.

In addition, Officer Jenny and Captain Sanders also bought a lot, and they also asked many relatives, friends, and colleagues to buy some.

Some of the remaining fruits were left by Eddie for the children in the orphanage, and some were given as gifts to customers who bought a lot.

In the end, Eddie earned nearly 800,000 PokéDollars from these fruits. Apart from the part left for his children, he actually got more than 600,000 PokéDollars.

Now that he had the money, Eddie went to Naomi to get energy blocks tailor-made for Selene and Popplio. From then on, they no longer had to live a life of frugality.

In addition to clearing out the newly purchased territory, Eddie's biggest achievement in the past two months was that he finally cleared most of the energy circuits of the Popplio.

Now the Popplio is able to use skills. Although the power of these skills is quite weak, it is enough to make it happy.

When the Popplio summoned a Water Pulse that was not even as big as a fist for the first time that day, it burst into tears.

Of course, compared to other Pokémon, the blocked part of the energy circuit of Popplio is still too large, so it depends on Eddie to continue to clean it up slowly in the coming days.

That day, Eddie found the group of Talonflame and Fletchinder that he had hired, intending to discuss something with them.

Over the past year or so, because Eddie had been constantly combing their energy circuits, and because they had been constantly fighting and battling with Selene, more than a dozen Fletchling had all evolved into Fletchinder, and one of them had even evolved directly into its final form Talonflame, becoming the leader of all the Fletchinder.

After combing the energy circuits for the Talonflame and Fletchinder, he asked, "I bought a mountain and plan to plant fruit trees. Now I'm short of helpers, so I want to formally hire you. Not only will I continue to comb your energy circuits, but I'll also provide food and accommodation. Do you want to?"

Is there such a good thing?

"Chabu~Chabu~"

"Ah~ah~"

Of course, the Talonflame and Fletchinder couldn't wait to agree.

Not to mention the rewards, just the affection they have developed from spending more than a year together, and Eddie's kindness in helping them evolve, are enough for the Talonflame and Fletchinder to follow Eddie, not to mention that they also provide food and lodging!

Eddie was very happy when he saw that the Talonflame and Fletchinder agreed so readily.

The mountain he bought is in a remote location, and he doesn't have the conditions to build it up now, so he must pay special attention to safety. Otherwise, when the fruits grow, wild Pokémon all over the mountain will come to steal the fruits, and he will not be able to make any money then!

That's why he thought of hiring the Talonflame.

After more than a year of training, the strength of the Talonflame and the Fletchinder has become the dominant one among the nearby wild Pokémon. With them guarding their territory, Eddie hardly has to worry about safety issues.

"Okay, I'll take you to see the new land I bought!" Eddie said immediately.

"Chabu~Chabu~"

"Ah~ah~"

The Talonflame and Fletchinder cheered immediately.

Then the Talonflame slowly squatted down and motioned Eddie to sit on its back.

"You want to carry me?" Eddie looked at Talonflame in surprise. This was a treatment he had never received before.

"Yeah~"

The Talonflame narrowed its eyes and nodded at Eddie with a smile.

"Thank you so much!"

Eddie quickly took out Selene's Poké Ball and put it away, then held the Popplio in his arms, and then climbed onto the back of the Talonflame with nimble hands and feet.

The Talonflame slowly flapped its wings and flew into the air. According to Eddie's instructions, it flew towards the new territory, and the other Fletchinder followed closely behind.

The Talonflame was very fast and soon brought Eddie and his Pokémon to the destination and landed on the top of the mountain. This was the place that Eddie and his team had spent two months clearing out.

Eddie also built a number of wooden houses here to serve as dormitories for the Talonflame and Fletchinder, so they no longer have to worry about wind and sun.

"This is it." Eddie pointed at the entire mountain and introduced it to the Talonflame and Fletchinder. Then he pointed to the wooden house behind him and said, "This is the wooden house I prepared for you. It's a bit rough and simple. I will rebuild it for you after it's on track."

Eddie was an amateur, and although he tried his best, the wooden house he built was crooked and useless except for being sturdy and warm.

However, the Talonflame and Fletchinder did not mind. Wasn't this place much better than their original residence? Their original residence was just a grass nest made of weeds.

Eleven Fletchinder and a Talonflame chattered about their new residence, and soon they had each allocated a room.

They crawled in and tried it: "Hmm~ comfortable!"

Eddie thoughtfully laid hay and leaves in each wooden house, and the bottom of the wooden house was separated from the ground by a distance, so there was no need to worry about moisture.

"I will transplant the fruit trees here in the next two days, and I'll have to ask you to take care of them from now on." Eddie said.

"Ya ka ~ Ya ka ~" Leave it to us!

The Talonflame flapped its wings gently and assured confidently, and the Fletchinder followed suit and echoed their leader.

At this time, Eddie remembered that his territory had no name yet, so he released Selene and said to everyone: "Let's give this place a name together!"

"Sana~"

"Woo~"

"Yeah~"

"Not at all~"

Eddie's proposal was unanimously agreed by everyone.

"What's its name?" Eddie pondered.

"Shanai~Shanai~" Let's call it Maple Leaf Mountain!

Selene suggested and named the place after herself and her beloved son.

"Maple Leaf Mountain? But there are neither maple leaves nor maple trees on this mountain!" Eddie said helplessly.

"Sana~Sana~" What does it matter?

"Yaka~Yaka~" Is that called Flaming Mountain?

"Your statement is even more unreliable. How can this have anything to do with fire?"

"Woo~Woo~" I think Popplio Mountain is the best.

The Popplio said impatiently.

Eddie patted its head and said unhappily, "Nonsense, is this mountain yours or mine?"

The Popplio covered its head and muttered softly: "What's yours is mine, isn't the Popplio cute?"

Seeing that the Pokémon were talking more and more outrageously, Eddie ignored their chattering, thought for a while and suddenly said, "Why not call it Prosper Peak?"

"What does this mean?" The Pokémon were confused.

So Eddie began to explain it to them.

"Prosper Peak" means that it is in its infancy. His career has just begun and will surely develop vigorously in the future. "Prosper" represents both the beginning and is full of expectations for the future.

After listening to Eddie's explanation, the Pokémon abandoned their own names and chose Eddie's. Especially Selene, who praised her beloved son, saying that her beloved son was the smartest in the world.

After settling the Talonflame and Fletchinder, Eddie took Selene and the Popplio home.
