94 AC – Moon of the Griffin
Ties That Bind
As a new year dawns over Dragonstone, the seeds planted by Prince Aegon begin to grow roots. Bonds of friendship and family strengthen while dragons — both literal and symbolic — rise to reshape the destiny of the realm.
Wolves and Storms
Two important arrivals mark the beginning of the year:
Benjen Stark, the quiet and perceptive boy from the North, arrives with his direwolf pup and silent warging gaze. Dragonstone's warmth contrasts his reserved demeanor, but he quickly bonds with Aegon, offering a grounded perspective amidst fire and ambition.
Borros Baratheon, proud and tempestuous, arrives from Storm's End. Jocelyn Baratheon oversees his adjustment, while Aegon welcomes his cousin with the confidence of a young prince forming his own circle of loyalty.
Together, Benjen, Borros, and Aegon begin forming a brotherhood that could one day span the realm's greatest Houses.
Daemon and the Dragon of Dreams
Far from the halls of court, Daemon Targaryen faces the challenge that has haunted his dreams: claiming Caraxes, the dragon of his late brother Aemon.
Caraxes resists at first — a storm of fury and memory. But Daemon, relentless and driven by both grief and pride, earns the beast's submission in a spectacular and dangerous display above the cliffs of Dragonstone.
The bond is forged in fire and shadow, and Caraxes roars a new name — one that echoes the blood of his first rider but burns with a new fury.
Laena and the Fire Within
Now nearly two years old, Laena Velaryon continues to grow with her dragon Lunaryon. Her connection to the creature seems preternatural — the two often move in rhythm, dragon calls answering infant cries.
Meanwhile, Rhaenys Targaryen reveals she is with child again. The prospect of a second child fills both Rhaenys and Corlys Velaryon with hope — and adds a deeper sense of purpose to Laena's upbringing.
Jocelyn Baratheon grows increasingly protective of her daughter and grandchild, even as she supports Aegon's court-in-formation on Dragonstone.
The Rise of Aenarion
Though only four years since his hatching, Aenarion, the dragon bonded to Aegon, already spans over 18 meters — growing at an alarming and awe-inspiring rate.
The creature's crimson-black scales shimmer like obsidian in firelight, and its eyes mirror Aegon's own intensity.
Soon, Aenarion may rival Meleys, Rhaenys's dragon, who spans over 33 meters — a reality that doesn't go unnoticed by the court or by Aegon himself.
The prince's connection to Aenarion becomes deeper, almost spiritual. He often speaks softly to the beast, as if it understands — and perhaps, it does. In secret moments, Aegon even attempted to climb upon Aenarion's back, longing to ride, but Jocelyn Baratheon discovered him. Furious and frightened, she forbade him from mounting the dragon until the king decrees otherwise. When word reached King Jaehaerys, he declared that Aegon may only ride Aenarion on the eve of his departure for King's Landing — not before. For now, the sky must wait for its prince.
Firebound Brotherhood
One evening beneath the stars, Aegon brings Borros and Benjen to the Dragonmont. The three boys watch as Aenarion takes flight, his wings stretching like burning sails.
Aegon turns to them and says:
"This mountain will forge us. And when the time comes, we will be fire — and wind — and storm."
High above them, Ryam Redwyne watches from a lonely cliff, his voice carried in quiet narration:
"Together they are the chaos of Dragonstone — fire untempered, blood unshackled. The realm may call them brothers of bond... but in the scrolls of the Firebound Brotherhood, we will name them what they truly are: stormborn shadows, destined to burn or bind the world."
The future burns bright, its roar already echoing across Westeros.
