98 AC – Wings to the Capital
First Flight, First Game
As one journey ends, another begins — not on soil, but in sky. Aegon rises from the stone of Dragonstone into the storm of King's Landing, carried by fire, fate, and the wings of destiny.
Alone with the Flame
With his family and closest friends having departed at first light, Aegon finds himself alone atop the cliffs of Dragonstone. Beside him stands Aenarion, restless and mighty, awaiting the command that will change both their lives.
Ser Ryam Redwyne, ever the vigilant mentor, watches from a distance. Pride and unease war in his eyes — the prince is ready, but no training prepares a knight for watching his charge rise into the sky.
"This is no longer a boy I follow," Ryam thinks. "This is fire unbound."
The Bond Sealed in Sky
Aegon mounts Aenarion. The wind howls. The skies part.
In his inaugural flight, the prince and his dragon truly bond — not in blood, but in breath and blaze. As they soar beyond the tower peaks, Aegon feels the world shrink below him. For the first time, he understands freedom.
"So this is what it means to rule," he whispers mid-flight. "Not to own — but to rise."
He imagines flying over mountains, over oceans, across kingdoms. In these moments, the crown means nothing. Only the wind and the winged soul matter.
The Game Changes
By day's end, Dragonstone is behind him. The red keep looms on the horizon — a different world, coiled in ambition and danger.
King's Landing greets the crown prince not with warmth, but with watching eyes. The Iron Throne, the Faith, the whispers of gold and greed — all are thicker here. The rules have changed.
"This place is not built for children or dreams," Aegon notes. "Only blades, masks, and thrones."
No longer about training or brotherhood — the game now is survival, and supremacy.
