Chapter 8 - Chapter 7: The Ascendant Trials

Eze walked to the below ground parking lot under the airport, his duffel bag in his right hand while his Weapon case was strapped on his left shoulder. There, passengers took cabs to and from the airport.

The young man looked around, until his gaze fell on a solitary security officer standing in a booth not too far from him. He walked towards him and asked in a polite voice

"Sir, I'm looking for Key number 343, the guilty spark sent me"

The guard paused to look at the giant of a man before him talking politely to him, before he nodded and answered

"This way... You must be one special customer... That baby looks legit sexy"

Eze smiled, already guessing what his father had got him to start off his hunting days. They went into a private garage with a blue laser door, which didn't allow one to see through it. This garage was used to keep vehicles that belonged to people who traveled out long distances and couldn't keep them at home.

The door buzzed and shimmered, before going off in a burst of sparks. Behind it was a beauty Eze had wished for. It was a motorcycle that had being upgraded with state of the art tech.

Unlike the Harley's he usually rode, this was a full on super bike. The bike was black in colour with blue neon lights crisscrossing it's sleek and smooth chrome sheen. On its left handle bar was a helmet made of the same material. All in all, the bike gave off a futuristic feel to it.

Holy.... This girl...

He didn't have the words to say as he walked towards the motorcycle with awe in his eyes, a delight in his smile. He ran his fingers on the bike and nodded. He looked at the compartment at the back and opened it.

"Space Tech huh" he grinned. He tossed his large duffel bag into the small motorcycle compartment, but strangely enough, it went in without a hitch.

The guards eyes widened, Space tech that shrunk items were very rare, and very expensive.

"Hey, catch!"

The guard called out, snapping him out of his daze. Without looking back, he swiped his arm behind him, catching a pair of keys. The guard was impressed but Eze's reflexes. With a nod and a tip of his hat, he left the garage.

Eze didn't waste anymore time. He straddled the motorcycle, grabbed the helmet and put it on. Then he inserted the key and turned the ignition.

Immediately, his helmet lit up. It's visor lit up and a voice rang out from the lining pads around both ears.

HELLO EZE

Eze was taken aback, but soon regained his composure.

"Let me guess, your my sisters A.I assistant?"

YES. I WAS MADE SPECIFICALLY TO ASSIST YOU IN CONTROLLING THE FUNCTIONS OF THIS BIKE FOR THE MEANWHILE

"What did my sister do to this thing that I need an AI to run it?" He groaned. Sometimes, he wished his sister was like him. He made objects based on practicality and availability of materials, she went over and above when she created things. Plus the fact that she was part of a large corporation of Ascendants, and was popular in the Ascendant circle.

He placed his leg and kicked off the bike stand, then revved the engine, a smooth purring sound resounded back at him. He revved it again, this time louder...

DRRRRRRIIIINNNGGGGG!!!

"Ohhh yeah!!!" Eze cried out in ectasy. He pulled on the throttle and let go of the brakes, sending him zooming out of the garage and out of the underground area.

Just as he zoomed past, the security at the post near the entrance chuckled.

"What a machine! Must be some Hierarch family kid huh"

Eze zoomed around town, making sure to keep below the speed limit. After a few minutes of testing the engines, he parked on the side of the road, a huge grin on his face.

"Hey Matt!" He called inside his helmet "Do you have a map of London I could use. I need to find the nearest Ascendants Association to register.

Affirmative!!! Loading all maps

Soon maps began to appear in his screen, one with a route to the closest Ascendant Association. Just a few kilometers near the edge of town.

The Association usually stops all tests by 2:00pm

Eze looked at the time, it was 12:46pm, and he was about 30km away from where he was.

"That means I have to go as fast as possible under the speed regulations. How long would it take for me to get there at normal road speeds"

Just about five minutes late...

Eze instantly revved his engine and nodded.

"Path the shortest routes, alleyways count... Give me a re-estimate immediately "

Done. Please follow this path and you would make it in 40 minutes early.

Eze nodded and zoomed off.

Just outside the airport, a woman and a man walked towards a jeep. The woman was tall with long blond hair and a single green eye; the other covered with an eye patch. She wore a grey mink coat over a suit, slacks and a skirt.

The man next to her towered her. He was a giant of a man, over 7 feet tall. His hair was sandy blond with a a beard gripping unto his chin. He wore a suit also, and for a man of his build, it boosted his charm ever so slightly.

The man looked to the woman and spoke with a gruff Russian accent

"Mikaela, what's bothering you? Today is a good day for the company"

Mikaela, the woman next to him, stood at the jeeps door and frowned.

"Just now, I sensed a familiar aura... I don't know why, but it's bothering me Tarkov"

Tarkov, the giant lifted a brow and frowned. If there was anything he trusted, it was Mikaela's senses. Whatever it was, it would be bad if they missed something so crucial.

Then, Mikaela sighed and spoke up as she entered the passenger seat of the large jeep.

"Forget it, we'll be getting such a talented new recruit today, we're so lucky"

"Lucky doesn't cut it. The princess of the Li clan of the Eastern Front... I wouldn't even dream she'd want to leave the east, talk less join a small company like ours"

"Yeah..." Mikaela said, then went back deep into the realm of her thoughts. Tarkov

started the engine and drove off into the main road.

And about 20 minutes later...

Eze parked before a large skyscraper with the banner and Symbol stating...

ASCENDANT ASSOCIATION

Boldly written in special fonts. The emblem was that of a trident with two dragons curling around it, the symbol of the European and Russian Solace Forces aka the ERSF.

Eze looked around and found the parking lot slightly crowded with young people, most of them younger than him. Some with weapons, others dressed in armour of different types

Most Ascendant usually trained their children or students to ascend at a young age, so the average age of ascension was 16-20 years old. Eze, on the other hand was 25, and old man by his own right

'Better late than never' he thought. He adjusted the weapon case on his shoulder and walked in...
