Just as Eze answered in the affirmative, a sudden chill ran down his spine. It felt like been watched by a predator, ready to pounce at any moment...
And the smell!
Even if he couldn't see his opponent, he could smell it from a kilometer away.
And it was so pungent, it almost made home retch. He spat out some saliva and stabilized himself; this wasn't his first time tangling with a C-Class Evo-Beast.
'An Alpha, and it smells... Like a She-Wolf... Shit!' Eze groaned under his breath, his hands quivering. There was little to no time to prepare for a hunt... Not that killing it in a one in one was impossible.
In fact, it was a 100% possible for Eze to win. He'd killed D-Class Evo-Beasts as a mundane human, even going toe to toe with some of them in mortal combat... But he didn't come out unscathed.
Eze thought of his options, looking around, as if searching for a way to at least gain an advantage... Just then, the scent began to move, and Eze, for the first time through out this battle, used his Quather to jump into the air about ten feet.
Instantly, a claw almost formed out of the void, slashed where Eze was...
'Such speed is illegal, for a C-class!' Eze cried in his heart. The Fenrir that appeared looked different from the others.
First it was actually smaller than most of the pack, and it's strike just now wasn't that strong from its body's perspective. But She-Alpha Fenrir's gained a boost that made them deadlier than the males, especially in an enclosed area like the forest Eze was now in...
Speed!!!
Just her speed alone created enough force to turn her somewhat weak strikes to be strong enough to shatter his bones in a single hit.
Just as Eze landed on a branch above, he jumped again, which was a wise choice, as the Fenrir followed him like a heat-seeking missile, wishing to end him in one blow. He grabbed another trees branch and swung himself into the air, his hand still holding the Ogbunigwe.
Just as he dodged and waved, he used his free hand to knock on his weapon box, grabbing what seemed to be a vial. Then he tossed it towards an empty part of space.
It made contact with the speeding Fenrir, who created an explosion of grey gas. The gas somewhat slowed the Evo-Beast for a beat, halting it's momentum. This brief wait was enough for Eze to grab an arrow and fire at it.
The arrow smoothly moved smoothly towards its quarry, before it was deflected by the Evo-Beast.
'Now, Ogbunigwe!!!' Eze yelled a mental command, causing his bow to go into changes to it's spear form, a double edged spear. He powered Quather into his legs and dashed fowards from his current perch, using the remnants of the gas as cover, before making a stab for the Fenrir.
The Fenrir, snarled like a primal smile, before dodging to the left, causing the spear to miss and stick itself to the earth. Then it swung its left paw to catch Eze on his face.
Eze almost instantly spun in mid air using his stabbing spear stuck into the grounds as fulcrum. He used the force of his falling body to swipe the bottom of the spear upwards, slashing away the Fenrir's strike and temporarily blinding it with sand he pulled out when he drew it off from the ground.
Raaaaghhh!!!
The Fenrir roared, swing it's right paw to catch the retreating Eze, who welcomed it with a block from his spear. He then moved the sharp edge of its blade, cutting into the paw of the Fenrir.
Almost immediately, the wound began to faster, as if poisoned.
'Its Effective, as expected!' he thought for a brief period and then smiled.
This battle, might be easier than he thought. Maybe Ascending gave him the ability to make moves he wouldn't be able to make as a mundane human easily much more easier.
The Fenrir's eyes gleamed blue, enraged that it's prey had toyed with it for so long.
It ignored it's festering wound and suddenly... Vanished...
'Shi...'
BANG!!!
Eze was instantly sent flying, slamming into a tree, almost shattering it.
It had happened to fast, but this was the speed of a C-Class Evo-Beast. A Fenrir tinbe precise.
Eze pushed his broken body up and failing, injuries sporting his body as his jacket was half torn from the sleeves. His right arm was almost dislocated of its joints, his neck bleeding.
The She-Fenrir growled in delight, slowly prowling towards her weakend for. Eze tried to stand up again, this time using the Ogbunigwe as leverage to get on his feet.
The Fenrir seemed to enjoy toying with her foe, as it began to circle around Eze in delight. It growled in glee at the meal before it, ready to be slaughtered.
Eze struggled to stand in his feet, looking at the monster before him. His eyes betraying a hint of fear.
*Warning, please end the trial now before it is too late*
The announcer gave a call over the speaker. But Eze, he didn't give an answer. Instead, he... Smiled...
Yes... A sinister smile painted his lips like an ornament meant to be recognized for what it was.
Suddenly, the Fenrir frowned, almost a human like emotional change. It's body suddenly became limp in its right paw. It looked down and saw the source of the problem. It was the festering wound from early. It tried to move itself, but it never got the chance.
Suddenly, a knife stabbed right through its skull, into its brain. It didn't even have the time to cry out before it died.
It's body slumped on the floor, whilst Eze stood, his clothes rough and mostly torn.
"That was... Almost too easy!" He said to himself. He looked up to the sky, as if waiting for something.
*Congratulations, you have completed the test... Your score will now be recorded and your Card will be given to you at the exit. Do you want to paste your results in the board?*
Eze lifted his Ogbunigwe and kept it in his box. Then he bent towards his quarry, feeling just fur.
"She-Fenrir Alpha, C-Class Grade 1. I couldn't have defeated her if she came with her pack. I would really have died if she had backup jumping me" then he placed his hand on its head, and with a pinch, cracked the skull of the Fenrir. He then pulled out its brain matter intact, with a slit wound down it's middle, cutting it off from the spine.
"You were a great hunt, may your wisdom grant me nourishment"
And then...
He placed the brain matter into his mouth and ate it whole.

Back in the control centre, there was an uproar.
The stream of the young lady had reached it's climax. The lady was up against a C-Class Ugovin, a cheetah like Evo-Beasts known for its speed and agility, making it a deadly foe in isolation. It's speeds were too fast for human eyes to see, moving at subsonic speeds.
But for some odd reason, a D-Class Ascendant was going toe to toe with it in speed. Plus, she seemed to be an esoteric elementalist based on the element of darkness and shadow. She would sometimes blend into the shadows of objects, becoming invisible for a brief period, before targeting the Ugovin with very strong attacks from nowhere.
The control room was astounded, watching in awe and glee. Their were shouts and cheers as slowly but surely. The woman weakened and finally, killed amher quarry.
"Let's gooo!!!"
"Isn't that chick from the Li clan in the far east?"
"Wait!!! That Li clan, you mean..."
"Yeah I mean them, the house of foxes... One of the big three families in the Eastern Front"
"Holy... No wonder she's this good. Imagine what she looked like under the mask"

The staff were talking amongst themselves excitedly, but one wasn't.
He was terrified.
He gotten an alert that someone had broken the previous record of Five minutes forty seconds, just before being broken again by the Li clan girl. A name he was too familiar with.
