Eze walked into the lobby with a calm demeanour. He looked around, finding young people chatting with each other on things that didn't concern him.
The lobby was large and spacious, with chairs and Tv screens beaming news around. There were older people who followed the younger ones as bodyguards, keeping an eye out for them; The rich ones that is.
Some came in sleek armour just to show off their wealth, others did their best to stay obscure and hidden
Tried by the way, Eze could smell them from where he stood.
Others sat down looking at the screens, as if waiting for something. In concensus, all of them, except their security entourage, were weak.
All D-class newbies who were still wet in the ear. Eze sighed. Most of these people didn't have to go through the hell he went through to get where they were. But now, he knew it was worth it.
Heck the only reason he was taking this test was to get an official license so he could sell his leftover Evo-Cores for QCs legally so he wouldn't starve.
He walked up to the counter, making sure not to interact with anyone. A receptionist lady with ginger hair and dark eyes received him on the counter.
"Hello, welcome sir, how many I be of assistance?"
Eze replied by dropping his temporary pass. The receptionist jolted slightly and looked at Eze carefully. The pass stated he was born in year 2000, this was 2025. He was way beyond the awakening and registering age.
"Uh sir, did you come to retake your class test?" She asked reluctantly, trying not to sound offensive.
"This is my first time... I ascended less than a week ago" he replied with a knowing smile.
The woman shook slightly, then composed herself. To her, this young man was very unfortunate to ascend at such an older age. He was past his prime even before he started his journey. Now it would be a mediocre career for him, no corporation or company would hire someone with such a late Ascendant time.
She pushed a button, then turned to a door which opened just beside her.
"Please Mr Easy, this way..."
Eze lifted a brow and smiled. He then began to walk towards to door while saying
"It's Eze... Pronounced Ay-Zay... Get that right next time" then he disappeared behind the door, his brown long coat flapping in the air...
A middle aged lady wearing a butler's suit and skirt and a holding a tab looked at Eze for a hint, before going back to her tab.
She then stretched her hand signalled to Eze, who passed his Temporary pass to her. She swiped the card in a slot in the tab, before handing the card back to him. She then pinned a badge on his coat.
"Use lift number 5, your test will start there, swipe to enter" she spoke non chalantly, not focused at all on who she was talking to. Eze nodded, not minding at all. He walked beside her, picking up her grumbling voice behind him. He walked down a corridor and saw different lift doors. He walked to door number 5 and swiped the card in the card slot.
The door opened, and Eze entered. The doors whirls shut as Eze went down the lift.
Soon he was in an underground dome filled with trees and shrubs, reminiscent of a forest.
A voice soon resounded across the dome, announcing...
Participant number 234414, please this is a simulation of a battle against Evo-Beasts. All EB's here are summoned types so please be assured that you are not in danger, fully.
Please use all your power in order to score you properly and give you your proper rank. If you feel overwhelmed, please signify by clicking on the badge given to you.
Eze then realized what the badge was all about. It was a failsafe to stop the trial in case of fatigue or injury.
Should we begin Participant Ugo?
"Let the hunt begin"
The dome became silent, no wind blew as everything went still. But not for long. Almost instantly afterwards, Eze could smell it.
"Fenrirs!" He said as he sniffed the air, catching a whiff of every particle in the air. His sense of smell was almost unrivaled, comparable to most Evo-Beasts in the lower classes, but now that he ascended, his sense of smell almost had no boundaries. The only limitations was that he couldn't smell anything stronger than him.
Not that he couldn't, but the smell was so strong, he couldn't take a whiff at all. It was like placing a searing hot iron on a dead part of a body. They wouldn't feel the pain at all even if their hand was burning off.
"Six of them, north-north east, North-North east and North west. They will arrive about a minute at their current speed... Sniff! No time to prep for a proper hunt... But that's ok. This is just a simulation"
He tapped the suitcase in his back, opening a small compartment just beside it's right side. He pulled out some ring like devices. He tossed some in from of him, which expanded to form a miniature bear trap. These were nanotech traps were created by his Sister to help him hunt efficiently, easy to carry and set. He didn't use them much over regular traps due to their small amount.
He then placed the box on the ground and pulled out his weapon: the Ogbunigwe, and then activated Bow form. He grabbed six arrows and nocked one. Then he waited...

In a room filled with computers with cameras, a set of technical staff were watching different tests go on. Some were entranced by the participants, others didn't care at all. When Eze's video popped up, they took a glance at him, but didn't even bothered to spare more than that, except for the personnel who was to in charge of monitoring him.
The personnel, a young man with black hair and glasses, looked perplexed at Eze's actions. He seemed to look at the direction exactly where the Fenrirs were charging from.
Then his voice came from over the comms from. The badge that was pinned on his jacket acted as a fail safe, but also a mini camera and microphone.
'Six of them, north-north east, North-North east and North west. They will arrive about a minute at their current speed... Sniff! No time to prep for a proper hunt... But that's ok. This is just a simulation...'
'This... How is he so accurate. Does his ability give him foresight?' he thought to himself, then zoomed in and watched Eze's actions...
He saw as Eze set traps on the ground, then prepare his bow for battle.
'This is going to be interesting'
