Chapter 20 - EPISODE 20: "The Guardian's Echo"

A Fading Light, A Rising Storm

Sang's aura faded into nothingness.

A silence gripped the world.

News anchors screamed in disbelief:

"UNBELIEVABLE! We've witnessed the grace of God! The guardian sent by the heavens has saved us!"

Relief swept across the globe… but not in Sang's school.

In the classroom, a flash of realization struck the students.

Whispers filled the air.

"Guardian of God… was that... Sang Jaey?"

The Quiet Pride of Elvein

At home, Elvein smirked, watching the news.

Her eyes gleamed with quiet pride.

"He's growing... faster than even I expected."

Reunions and Recognition

Sang approached his group—Earian, Zoick, and the others.

Earian: "Sang… is that your new power?"

Zoick (to Eldrin): "If you didn't teach him that… then who did?"

Rakhad (smiling, proud): "Sang… I'm impressed. You've become stronger than I imagined."

Eldrin walked up without answering Zoick.

Eldrin: "You passed."

Sang: "Passed...? Passed what?"

Eldrin: "The test—of your battle instincts, your durability, your hax potential, speed, and strength."

Sang: "So… does this mean I can face them?"

Eldrin: "You can't even make them flinch yet. You'll need to train much harder."

Sang's confident face paled.

Secrets Behind the Flames

Rakhad: "Master, how is he using fire? That's not your style."

Eldrin nodded solemnly.

"Yes. He can use fire—and it's different from both our flames."

Eldrin clenched his fist. A box materialized in midair, projecting a holographic message.

Message: "We've arrived, Master. But... this planet—it's completely dark. I don't understand. Come quickly."

Sang: "What is that box?"

Rakhad: "It's a multi-purpose relic. It stores weapons, sends messages, and even opens portals."

Eldrin: "We move by evening. Everyone, prepare yourselves."

All: "Yes!"

Earian (grinning): "Finally… it's happening."

What Happened to Me...?

On the way…

Zoick: "Sang… what was that move? That last burst?"

Sang: "I honestly don't know. I blacked out. I wasn't even conscious. It felt like… someone else was moving my body. I used the same moves from our duels. But I don't remember doing it."

Zoick: "Damn, I'm starting to get jealous. You're evolving too fast!"

Earian: "Wait… when you got back up, who were you talking to?"

Sang (startled): "Talking? Me?"

Rakhad: "Yes. You said, 'This is my battle.' Who were you speaking to, Sang?"

Sang remained silent, confused.

The Shadow that Walks Among Them

Far away, a demon sent by Threxius had landed on Earth.

Disguised in human form, he scanned the surroundings.

Demon (to himself): "These auras… this planet holds powerful beings."

He sensed something ahead—a camp.

He moved toward it: the petrology camp.

To Zius We March

Back at the group, Eldrin opened a glowing portal.

As the team stepped in, Sang froze—his eyes darting.

He sensed a foreign aura—dangerous… but hidden.

On the other side of the portal, Zoick and Rakhad stood stunned.

Zoick: "This planet… it's covered in darkness."

Earian: "That darkness began when he arrived."

As Sang stepped on Zius, a light burst from beneath him, piercing through the shadows.

A glimmer of hope returned to the hopeless.

But soon, the darkness crept back again.

The Reunion at the Forest

They trekked through the eerie forest.

Eventually, they reached a hidden stronghold—Rakhad's allies.

Tears, laughter, and embraces followed.

Rakhad: "Brothers!"

They embraced—old bonds reignited.

Meet the Mages of Zius

Rakhad introduced Sang to his companions:

Rohdan – Water Mage

Mohiran – Storm Mage

Upanor – Wind Mage

Lohirian – Earth Mage

Nero – Ice Mage

Selia –Briarshade Mage

Lyra – Crystal Mage

Azira – Sound Mage

Sylin – spirit Mage

Most greeted Sang warmly—except Nero and Lyra, who eyed him with cold disinterest.

But Sylin... blushed when their eyes met.

The Fire Within

As they gathered around the campfire, someone asked:

Rohdan: "Why do you bring them here, Rakhad? It's dangerous."

Eldrin: "They can handle it."

He sent Sang and Zoick to hunt more fish.

Rakhad: "Master… now tell me. How does he wield fire?"

Upanor: "He used fire?!"

Mohiran: "Seriously?"

Eldrin: "Not just fire. He can wield nine powers... possibly more."

Lohirian: "Nine?!"

Lyra: "Probably weak ones."

Nero: "Yeah. What could they possibly be?"

Azira, silently thinking: "How can a human have so many powers?"

Eldrin finally revealed:

"Hellfire. Soul Wind. Stone fang. Frost bite . Gravity control. Thornroot. Solaris. Stormrend. And… Voidflare."

Gasps rippled through the group. Even Sylin's interest in Sang deepened.

To Be Continued...

The night burned with more than just the fire.

A storm was coming. And Sang Jaey was at the eye of it.
