She opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out, only silence, stretching silence that dug an insatiable hole in the remaining part of my heart.
I trailed my arms over her lips, shutting them with my fingers as I leaned closer, the weight of guilt pulling down on me again.
"What are you doing?" Her voice cracked, but I let those words settle into my lips as I grabbed hers into mine, slowly craving her as she tried to break free.
I breathed and let go. My eyes burned with the intensity, the confusion masked on her face. I wouldn't say I wasn't expecting the reaction, anyone could, and that made it worse with my already bleeding heart, seeking to comfort her.
That seeking to rewrite my wrongs. Every damn thing I had done in the past. I leaned back, my eyes remaining on those innocent, piercing brown eyes I had never so much as considered.
