Chandranna was overseeing his duties in their sugarcane factory. Siva came to visit him, he saw him in a distance and lunged towards him putting his entire weight on Chandranna's body which made him staggered. Siva chuckled "how are the things going on at the factory and fields?" asked with his hand over his shoulder. Chandranna "as usual. Not much changed in fields. Factory work is increasing as we got three more wholesale orders. Did you come here for my father or me?" replied and asked him as he put his hand over siva shoulder bending him a little. Siva "I came here for you. I heard something so I thought of confirming it with you." answered him. Chandranna looked at him perplexed, "about what?" he asked. "Your marriage talks with Aparna."he replied firmly. Chandranna became still as he heard those words. Siva took his hand off his shoulder and smacked his back a little harder which made him jolt and return to reality. Siva looked at him as if he were looking at something to prey on, "what is it about? Is that true?" he asked again curiously. Chandranna nodded shyly and continued, "it's not confirmed yet. So don't go to Aparna with the same question." asking him not to talk this to Aparna he continued, "My mother told me that her father wanted to know her daughter's opinion, so he wanted us to wait for a while." answered him with dispirited tone. Siva laughed out loudly and "you still look an eight year old kid infront of her despite all the work you handle for your father and Murthy uncle meticulously" teased him as he patted his head like a kid. Chandranna face felt hot. He smacked his friend's hand in embarrassment and "what can I do when she is so .....?" he stopped at the last word trying to find the correct word to describe his feelings about her looking awkwardly.
Siva laughed out again "you really can't hide tour expression. Kid" ruffled his hair playfully. Chandranna was still searching for the word. Chandranna asked surprisingly "Siva, how did you know about this? I thought no one other than our families knew about it." regaining his composure. Siva looked at him once and "it's not like I went around asking, but when Murthy uncle and Obulesu uncle were talking at the village tree, I happened to hear those words. So I came if you knew about other thing." Chandranna hmmed and "do you have anything to do this evening?" he asked Siva. Siva shook his head. "Okay then, should we three hangout together after a long time." Chandranna suggested a meeting with three of them (other one is Karunakar). Siva nodded and "we need to see if he can make these days. Anyway I will tell him." Chandranna nodded. "Young master, someone came looking for you. They wanted to talk about some business so I made them sit under the and asked him to wait for a little time while I come and tell you about this", his assistant Mukundam briefly explained the situation. Siva "okay then. We'll talk later." took his leave from Chandranna. Chandranna "Mukundam uncle, you accompany him for now, I'll be coming right behind you." instructed him and turned to Siva "okay then. Don't forget about meeting. Tell me if he can't make it" saying those, he took his leave and went to the man Mukundam told about.
Afternoon....
Karunakar went to coconut farm to meet Siva. Siva was honestly surprised to see him because he never came to the farm unless they had plans together. Karunakar "Sivaa... what should I do?" he asked him desperately. Siva looked at him with a question mark face all over his face, "my lord, care to explain what you are talking about?" he asked Karunakar. Karunakar looked at him and sighed. Siva perplexed. Siva " Ramappa brother, please make two coconut ready to drink." asked one of the people who's working there. He handed them over to Siva. He gave one to Karunakar and another one for himself. "Let's walk as we talk and drink" Siva lead the way. Karunakar reluctantly took the coconut and moved along with Siva. "Now tell me what happened" Siva asked him. He replied "yesterday my father asked about marriage between Chandranna and Aparna. I said it's good. And I discussed the same with Aparna, she just nodded and left me alone. So I don't know what to interpret from her behavior. I'm confused if she likes it or not." explained the situation that happened the last day night. Siva kept drinking the coconut water and "our farms coconuts are best" breathed a sigh of content. Karunakar kicked his butt with his foot and "Idiot, did you not listen to what I was saying?" asked in frustration. Siva "tch..tch...tch.. I heard all my dear friend" replied him while giving the finished coconut to someone working there. Siva turned towards him "actually, I had the same talk with Chandranna in the morning and was going to see you after the farm duty, but you came here." he carefully explained about the conversation between Chandranna and him earlier. Karunakar "woah. He's clear from their part. I'm fidgeting here in the middle. Should I ask her again?" he asked for another opinion from Siva. Siva "hmm. I think it's good to ask again but not now. Give her at least two or three days to think about her future partner." stated his opinion. Karunakar nodded and "you come and meet me at my fields after you're completed here and we'll head straight to Chandranna." told to siva. Siva nodded in happiness and "okay" with a beaming smile. They tool leave their leave from each other and went to carry on their respective works.
Siva didn't imagine that Obulesu uncle would discuss it with aunt the same night and even with Karunakar and Aparna. They sure are fast. "I really want to know Aparna's answer, who's lately hanging around another young man, with regard to time." He saw both of them twice while they're sitting on the hot rock under hot sun coincidentally while he was on work.... a wry smile appeared on the corner of his lips.
Karunakar went to his farm thinking about his sisters mind. He was pondering about whether or not Aparna will agree with him... he soon went to his farm and completed his work and freshened up and Siva just came to meet him, from there they went to Chandranna.
