[Start of Volume 2: Mandatory Mortal Studies]
And as such, time goes on, second by second, hour by hour. And day by day. – And the days passed, until it was Monday morning. The dreaded day the two awaited, it was almost like they could hear trumpets! Or they hoped at least.
After all, they dreaded it all week, wishing to tick time back, to stop it even. – The fox simply gave a sigh. His eyes were barely open, his body was lying down under the warm blanket. – The time was early, around 5:00 AM
His body was used to waking up at such times. So he was quite awake, it was just the simple fact that the day ahead was almost pushing him back in bed. – And he didn't really wish to fight it. He wanted to just go back to sleep.
Nora was not going to be awake and aware for at least two hours. – And the opening satanic School Ritual was at 10 AM... He could catch up on even four more hours of sleep. – Or just go get a cup of tea.
The moment a cup of tea was mentioned, he had already made the decision. – Slowly getting up and throwing the blanket into some corner. – His body moved swiftly, opening the wardrobe's sliding door as his two tails picked out his clothes in a swift manner, pushing clothes he disliked to the side.
Grabbing them, he moved to the side, kicking the unlocked bathroom door with his leg and entering, kicking it once more to close it! – After a few minutes had passed, he just got out, dressed lightly in some formal plain clothing.
Stretching himself and his tails, fluffy ears giving a small flicker. – He started stepping forward lightly, his tails moving, both pressing onto the door's handle and opening it slowly. Making sure not to make a sound.
He advanced into the kitchen slowly, his eyes looking around at each drawer and each object that was placed around the table. – His eyes seemed quite lazy as he began moving towards the sink.
His tails reached up, opening some things and grabbing a water kettle, the other grabbing some random types of tea, while his own hands turned on the water and grabbed the kettle, beginning to fill it up.
As soon as it was filled up, he let out a small hum, body flipping over as his tail turned the oven on, and his hand moved to place the kettle onto the fire. – Careful as to not accidentally set his tails on fire... He knew the feeling, it was not fun.
It was quite amazing how fast Kitsune fur could burn... – He also learned the only way to put it out was quite easy, dissipating the tails and making them appear again. – But painful to feel them burning at that.
He just leaned back against the table, letting out a sharp breath as he gave a massive groan. – His mind running back towards the school work he's gonna have to deal with after this week is over. Clear regret.
The water began boiling as his ears flickered lightly, his hand moving and grabbing the kettle. A normal person would scream. Not a god. The warmth was uncomfortable, but his skin was fine. Mainly with two tails empowering his body.
One of his two tails moved and grabbed a teacup, holding it up as he poured the water into it carefully. The other tail proceeded to drop the tea packs into it slowly, before grabbing a spoon and beginning to mix it.
Tris let out a small sigh, placing the kettle down as he moved, pulling a small chair from under the table, and plopping down onto it, almost melting like a candle. – His tail placed the cup in front of him.
He leaned back once more, taking some deep breaths as he waited for it... Then grew bored. – His hand moved through the air! He created a big ice cube in his hand. And simply, plopped it in.
It did not take long as the ice cube EXPLODED at the sudden warmth, shooting UP! Then right back into the cup as shards... Some tea spilt at the corners, covering a bit of the table. Yet none hit the ground.
The fox was swiftly startled, jumping into the air and falling straight on his back with a squeak! Clearly he did not learn enough physics for this shit. – And it was not the first time he was doing something this stupid either.
And suddenly another door was open, Nora leaving her room with a sudden groan, looking at the startled fox with a smile, then beginning to laugh hysterically and moving around, her eyes fixated on the little guy.
Just as the door opened, HE JUMPED once more, moving to a corner, and standing his ground. His ears were flickering like a machine gun. – Or perhaps even faster. – He just let out a hiss. A sharp one at that! He had practice.
And the little ice cube shards in the cup let out another small CRACK, and our fox was once more set jumping, covering his head! – Poor fox did not get even a moment of rest! – Nora was just laughing her ass off.
"Shut it already!"
The man let out a small hiss, speaking quite clearly as he was rubbing the top of his head, accidentally hitting it on a shelf just a second prior. – That must have HURT, and badly at that, to make him squirm a bit.
"Ahahha. Seems the fox cannot stay out of trouble for too long!"
Nora spoke, stretching her arms and walking up to him, patting his head before she just walked to the fridge, opening it and grabbing a bottle of juice she had placed there yesterday! Seemingly, she had already planned a schedule.
"Shut it, I was doing my best! The ice cube just exploded! Out of nowhere! I didn't even touch it!"
Tris spoke, giving a light groan as he got up, walking over and grabbing some paper towels, cleaning the table swiftly, his tails picking up objects so he could clean under them. – I suppose they were quite useful in such!
Nora did not say anything, just giving a lone chuckle as she stretched her arms. – Looking him up and down. – Giving a small nod at the way he was dressed, almost like she was approving of it.
"I see you're quite ready... We should leave in a few minutes, have time to search and to get our schedules."
Nora spoke quite blankly, her fingers stretching as he opened the juice bottle, taking one big sip as she awaited an answer from the fox. – She was not one to lack patience, so she made sure to wait till he was done cleaning.
"Wha- Don't we need to be there at 10? I'm not leaving till at LEAST 9 or something..."
The fox spoke lazily, clearly bothered by the fact that Nora already wanted to leave. – What time was it? Six? Seven? It was way too early to just start leaving! He would have died on the way if they had to already just leave.
"We have to grab schedules, find classes, and seem normal. Meaning I need YOU to guide me around while I'm wearing my blind fold. – We have to seem normal, remember? Unless you wish to scream you're some god damn price. People are gonna think you're nuts anyway... Like you already aren't a bit."
Nora spoke in a straight line; she was the organised type in the end, always up and ready to plan ahead with a strong schedule. – She had certain times she woke up at, certain homework times and all that. It broke Tris.
"I am gonna die... Sigh..."
Tris did not complain, grabbing his teacup and just proceeding to down it like it was nothing, the ice cubes already melted by the hot tea. – So he had no worries about it, simply walking over and dropping it into the sink.
Nora gave a chuckle, moving back into her room to get dressed, as the fox walked into his own room and began making his things for the day, water bottle, notebook, and all the normal things he would need. Even if most could be replaced by runes...
And as such, he walked out, stretching himself as Nora was already just waiting by the door, blindfold on, walking stick in hand and ready to walk! – Or, well, be 'assisted' in walking. Not like she truly ever needed it.
Nora gave a small chuckle, watching Tris as he put his shoes on. – He was swift, always faster than anyone she had seen. Apart from some shadows. In the end, he merely had two tails.
Just as he put them on, he stretched himself as the tails and fur suddenly turned into white sparkles, melding into his skin so as not to be seen by anyone, his hand opening the door as he grabbed Nora's shoulder, pulling her along!
