As the dust settled in the front lobby of the RPD, Tony leaned back against a desk.
"So," he said casually. "Sherry's dad? Handled. Umbrella's special forces will backed off."
He leaned forward, his eyes more serious. "We've got maybe three hours left before this place is a crater."
Jill nodded and filled him in on the rest—Jasen's plan, the tunnel route, the warning about Nemesis variants, and the traitor Nikolai.
"Glad to hear Jasen's still breathing," Tony said with a small grin. "Though I'm gonna punch him for for giving me this job its not boring thank god but 30 grand is definitely not enough."
Leon chuckled.
Claire raised an eyebrow. "Your insane."
Tony winked. "Only on weekdays."
Meanwhile, Echo Six regrouped with Marvin, organizing the final stages of the evacuation. The station had become a hive of controlled chaos as survivors, officers, and STARS members worked in tandem to prepare.
Thirty minutes later, a convoy of commandeered UBCS jeeps and armored vehicles lined up outside the side access of the parking garage. Civilians were ushered in organized rows through the reinforced tunnel entrance Jasen had instructed them to use. Officers shouted orders, while STARS members ran final weapons checks.
Marvin barked to a group of rookies, "Double-check the medical kits! We leave no one behind!"
Carlos relayed into his comms, "We've got eyes on the north quadrant. All clear."
Then it came.
A thunderous stomp that rattled the barricades.
From the shadows of a collapsed building, a hulking shape emerged.
Nemesis.
But not the original.
This one was faster.
Bigger.
Its right arm had mutated into a writhing mass of organic blades. Its face was barely human, wrapped in leatherlike muscle, with one red glowing eye and a twitching jaw filled with too many teeth.
"In coming!" Claire shouted.
Tony rolled his shoulders.
"Time to make an impression."
He broke into a sprint, leaping over the first barricade before anyone could protest. The civilians screamed, rushed behind the jeeps as the officers took formation.
Tony met the monster head-on.
The two collided with a concussive force that cracked the pavement.
Nemesis roared.
Tony grinned.
He dodged the first strike, rolled under the whip-like arm, and uppercut the creature hard enough to send it stumbling. Before it could recover, Tony planted a boot in its chest and backflipped into the air, drawing his pistols and unloading into its exposed chest plate.
"COME ON!" he roared, grinning wildly. "Let's dance!"
Back by the tunnel entrance, Leon and Claire moved with precision.
Two lickers emerged from the western alleyway, screeching as they lunged at a group of officers.
Leon fired two clean headshots while Claire nailed the third with her revolver, the beast crumpling to the floor.
"Cover the rear!" Claire called out. "No surprises!"
In the chaos, no one noticed the lone figure atop the rooftop across from the main yard.
Ada Wong knelt behind the scope of a silenced rifle, her gaze locked on the Birkin girl being led into a UBCS transport.
She clicked her radio once.
"Target in sight. Confirmed sample carrier. Preparing for retrieval."
Wind blew her hair back.
"Time to finish the job."
