Chapter 6 - Awaken

"Do you think we should have made it a bit more subtle? I mean she is still a human with a weak heart." a voice had interrupted the silence of my mind.

"And still keep her hidden from the truth? She can faint now why later," Oh now I know whose voice that was, "Beside she's waking up."

and I just like that, it felt like the whole world was becoming clearer, in this position I wouldn't have complain if awaken by awfully handsome men. But in this situation, I was ready to punch them in the face.

"You're finally awake." I saw that someone had sat beside me, holding up a glass of water and I held the water in my hand, debating whether I should take it or not. But the looks of Marco smilling, I thought they wouldn't be so bad, right?

"Human are so weak hearted, no wonder their kind aren't accustomed to us."

"Of course, my kind wouldn't, who wouldn't go screaming bloody murder at some monsters with fanged smiles?" I seethed out in anger, I looked over to the boys and their heads were down. Maybe, monsters are a bit to harsh to describe what they are. Maybe, it was the guilt tripping in noticing their awkward demeanor.

"Maybe... not all of you," I whisper and Marco looks at me with a subtle smile."

"Right, now what's our next plan," Jullian asked, breaking away they silence, "They are out to get her, and right now, your as good as any normal mundane there is, you don't even know what you are."

The ones who killed my mother is out to get me.

"Who?" my voice barely broke above a whisper. "Who killed her?"

Juan was the first to answer. "The High Council."

"Why, what do they want from my mother or even me? I don't think we have anything that you wanted, if it means mother was as human as I was before she was killed." I told them whispering the last part, "What would a group of vampires want."

Juan leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "Your mother wasn't just hiding you from them—she was running. Because she knew what would happen if they ever found you."

"Why? What do they want with me?"

Cerius let out a low laugh, shaking his head. "It's not what they want—it's what they fear."

I turned to him looking a bit confuse? A high elite group of vampires afraid over a little tiny human? If the books were fact, I think they could drain my blood in seconds. I don't think they should fear me in a way. "Fear?"

Jullian met your gaze, his expression unreadable. "You really have no idea, do you?"

"I think you all might get the gist that this is still new information for me."

Hendery exhaled, like he had been waiting for this moment. "The prophecy."

"The Blood Moon will rise, and with it, the heir shall awaken."

My eyes widen in fear, the writing in the book, that specific sentence, it couldn't be right? A meekly human like myself? Is involve with some prophecy of an ancient race of vampires? Jullian was the first to finally understand that I am not taking it well, he sat by me, and rested his hands on my temple and a soothing sensation came rushing in, and in that moment I realise he had the power of emotion.

"Wouldn't want you to faint again."

"Thank you." I whisper to him.

Marco nod his head, "They believe that you're the heir. The one who will bring either salvation or destruction to our world."

I blinked. "That's ridiculous. I didn't even know vampires existed until tonight. How could I be some… chosen one?"

Aaron who had been silent until now, finally spoke. "Because it's in your blood." His voice was firm, edged with something sharp. "You're not just any hybrid. You're the firstborn of an ancient vampire lineage. One that was wiped out centuries ago."

My breath hitched. "My mother—"

"Was probably involved with one of them," Juan finished. "If it's true that you are human, she probably had you, and she hid you to keep you out of the Council's reach."

A hollow feeling settled in quickly as I saw down in disbelief. It has always been a wonder for me about my father and my mother. Whatever had happened before I knew that it's something I couldn't hide at all. The lingering memories of mother being normal. But knowing that apparently this is something bigger than I thought it would be, the thought of mom dying to protect who I was I knew I needed to justify for her. She dies trying to protect who I am, and right now the only chances in survival is in the hands of these people I've meet because right now it's not safe.

"Then why now?" I forced the words out. "If they didn't know about me before, why are they coming after me now?"

Marco's jaw tightened. "Because the Blood Moon is rising again. And with it, so are you."

"I can't do this," I whispered, shaking my head. This is something I couldn't just accept as easy as it is, I don't want to be force into this kind of thing."

For a moment there, I knew that whatever is going to happened, is not going to be as easy as it seems. I knew for a moment I was in a rough spot, and it was a lot to take it. But when I saw their expression, it was something soon I will regret.

For a moment, no one spoke, and I knew maybe. If I was a bit more understanding, I would have understand that whatever had happened was for a reason. Juan then stood from his place, and there he tilted his head, watching me with an unbearable expression. That kind of expression where he too was in a tight spot. "We were also in a way different than you are. We too, didn't want to be put in this situation. The prophercy, the sacrifice made, and the people who we had to pass and live on as we never stop aging. Do you think we choose this kind of life?"

Juan then harshly open a door in the other side of the room. "We were here, because you made it our alive in this world, and we had to pay a price of fate." He murmurs quietly, "to be honest, it doesn't care whether you want to live on it or not. We're because of you, if your to selfish to care about our sacrifices, then I guess your not the one."

"You're lucky you can choose to be human or vampire. For some of us, we were force into this life and we didn't argue. I don't fucking get why you get to grumble about it, what's so different than you and your kind with us before we were turned?"
