The blood was warm as it slid down my throat, it was thicker than expected - didn't need to know why I knew - but it felt different. Because unexpecting as it was the warm liquid that I thought was to be vile was a sweet as candy. I felt it and it brought a sudden ecstatic in my body. For a moment, nothing happened. I only took a big gulp as I whipped the blood off my mouth, none of them had spoke, but before I could say a word. There come a rippling pain in the throat and I came crashing down in the floor.
Pain.
A white-hot explosion tore through my veins and they watch as I felt the fiery burning feeling. I had to dropped my body to the floor to stable the throbbing pain in my head, my knees buckling in their spot and there I felt like darkness was finally welcoming me. Something was definitely trying to break inside me—like chains snapping, doors unlocking, a force too powerful to contain finally bursting free.
The world blurred. Shadows stretched across the walls, twisting, shifting. I could only brought out simple few words as finally the boys begin moving, it was too fast as darkness to me first. But I could hear a simple breathy whisper that I was going to be alright and I trusted them with it.
The pain did felt for a split second before it came to a halt. It was like as if time had stopped and when I opened my eyes, the world was somehow shifted and different. I felt like everything was clear.
I could hear everything—the crackle of the fireplace, the distant hum of electricity in the walls, the faintest breaths of the seven vampires around the room. Funny, it seems like everything that moves have their faintest breath hidden, and I could hear time as if they were as close of one millimeter. It felt weird to feel everything so clear when knowing the fact that it was a distance of meters.
I could feel everything.
I could smell the aged wood of the bookshelves, the lingering traces of rain outside, the faint metallic tang of blood—their blood. Right, their blood, whoever blood I drank was strong enough to knock the sense into me. A lingering primal feeling that had been awaken, and it's stronger as before since it was dormant. The vampire side of me, is that even a correct way to adjust the situation.
Finally as my eyes landed to the people in the room, I notice I was placed in a different room, not the halls we saw, it was different, the place was fairly better, it seems like a home for some people. Then there were what I was looking for, them.
For the first time, my eyes could adjust to see how clear they are in my vision. With my vision being heighten than ever, I could see them, not just for their faces but their presence—but their essence.
Marco was the first person my eyes landed, steady and strong, a force that burned like embers waiting to ignite. My guesses were right, Marco was born a leader, he sure was one of a hell, his aura was the kind of leader type. Next, my eyes linger to Cerius and Jenkins, it felt the first time they were twins, two souls that were trapped in each body, they were opposites but truly their shadows speaks the same language—unpredictable, unreadable.
Hendery was what I had expected his cheeky manner and that alluring smirk, he was truely someone who is proud of who he is. He was a mix of wild, untamed and the kind of fire which will not be easily be watered down. Beside him was Jullian and as I had guess he had that curious looked on his face, he was studying me, and as I was drawn into his eyes, I felt that pulled as strong connection I couldn't understand.
Then there's Juan, he sure one of the others who didn't seem interested but was present nevertheless. He didn't look interested at all as his eyes sway lazily across the whole room, not caring, but I wouldn't have it other way. I would prefer if they didn't intensely looked at me. Lastly, Aaron was sitting down on the window sill, looking through the windows paying no attention at all to his surrounding—one of the two who didn't care—but regardless I was glad another pair of eyes away from me.
"Allora?" My eyes shifted towards Marco and majority of gasp made my ears sensitive.
"Holy shit," Hendery muttered. I turned to face him and then there it was—power. Thrumming beneath my skin, rippling beneath my skin like a beast was about to emerge away. I felt it for the first time, I feel different. The strength, the sharpness of my senses, the way the air itself seemed to respond to whatever I was doing.
Jullian stepped closer, peering into my eyes. "Golden." His lips curled into a slow smirk. "I was wondering what color they'd turn."
I frowned. "What—"
Marco turned a small mirror toward me, and the sight nearly knocked the breath from my lungs. Words were taken away from my mouth, I couldn't respond correctly on the situation because I was captivated by own appearance, it felt like the books I used to read, how imperfections were washed away with eternal beauty.
Narcissistically, I was perfect, beyond my imagination. But what sets apart from all of that is my eyes —once ordinary—now glowed with an ethereal golden hue.
"That confirms it," Cerius murmured. "She's not just any hybrid."
Aaron's voice was low, captivating everyone. "She's the heir."
My fist clenched, trying to grasp the situation, trying to steading myself, Marco gently help and I muttered a quiet thank you as his eyes still lingering mesmerizing the golden hue. "Then tell me what that means."
Marco hesitated. "It means the Council will come for you. Sooner rather than later."
"And when they do?"
Jullian smirk sharpened. "Then we fight."
