Chapter 23 - Blooming Life with Alchemy and Hard Work.

Jaymir took no time; he got straight to work. However, he asked the tavern keeper for supplies, asking for flasks, vials, a cooking pot, and a spyglass. Once the tavern keeper delivered what was asked for, Jaymir removed his poncho, opened up his alchemy book, and studied it, while experimenting with the flasks and vials.

The flasks, vials, and cooking pot boiled and steamed, sending fumes out of his room. The fumes had no aroma, but the liquid was boiling, and the fumes were visible. The fumes had a white foamy texture, yet Jaymir's glance was still glued to the pages of the alchemy book, but he glanced over to the flasks and vials, watching them carefully. Jaymir's eyes went back and forth between his book to the flasks and vials, while stirring the liquid in one of the flasks, mixing up the Baw bane with other plants that Malerin gave him.

Jaymir studied the plants and mixed-up potions all night until the liquid turned into an oily texture, yet he continued testing out the potions on house plants, seeing the reactions, he wanted to see if the plants died, withered, grew back, or even had no effect. Of course, Jaymir had different reactions; some were failures, but he didn't give up or give in. he continued until he got the perfect reaction, a reaction that would restore the plant's mass to normal. It took time, but he did get the reaction he wanted. This was not alchemy to him; this was a way to restore life to normal. He didn't want to play God, but this town suffered enough.

O'garth, Malerin, and even the tavern keeper came to visit Jaymir to see if he was alright. However, they saw how hard he was focused on the task at hand. The Tavern keeper left food at his door when he saw how busy he was; of course, Jaymir would get the food and eat it while working. However, Malerin didn't take Greemo's threat lightly; she removed the talismans from the tree. At first, she did it out of spite, but then she figured Jaymir would need them, which he did.

When Malerin came to visit Jaymir, she gave him all the talismans. Jaymir was first shocked at she took all the talismans but then laughed as he stated as a joke but also serious, "man, Greemo is going to be pissed, but good, we need to teach him a lesson." Malerin smiles and quickly nods.

Jaymir continued his studies and his experiments, trying to see what made Greemo's talismans give out such a dreadful smell and what made them kill off the plants in Bumbleweed, so he wouldn't make the same mistakes.

3 days, that is all it took to get what Jaymir wanted. It only took 3 days of hard work and careful preparations, but finally, Jaymir got the potion he wanted. This potion fought back the effects of the talismans and restored the house plants to health. O'garth came back to Jaymir to see how his progress was doing.

O'garth knocked on Jaymir's door, and as he walked in, Jaymir, with excitement, called him in, "Ah! O'garth! Good, come in, come in! I got good news!" Jaymir signaled him to get closer, and he showed him the talismans of Greemo's, saying, "These are Greemo's talismans." Jaymir showed O'garth how Greemo's talismans were killing the plants and life in Bumbleweed.

O'garth's eyes widened in shock, then his tone turned sour and stern as he stated, "What in the hell!" Jaymir interrupted O'garth by holding up his hand and then showed O'garth his potion, saying, "Wait! Wait! I'll show you how I can fix all this." Jaymir put just a drop of his potion on the plant, and the effects of the potion restored the life to the plant. It was slow, but the color of the plant returned to normal, and it grew a leaf slowly, bringing it back to life. Jaymir explained, "It took a while, I didn't want to play god, so I made this potion to slowly work, only to restore it to life, yet slowly."

Yet again, O'garth's eyes widen in shock and his jaw drops, "By the kegs of ale, you mean we can turn that tree back to normal?" Jaymir nods, but explains, "Yes, but in time it will be back to its beautiful self." O'garth put his hand on Jaymir's shoulder as he closed his eyes, "You did good, Jaymir, this is all I needed, thank you." Jaymir smiled and looked at O'garth as he said, "Hey, I told you I am here to help."
