Kealith;
"Come rain, come shine, we're a team. I will help and trust you for as long as you do not do anything to change that. We're on the same team here on out. The first rule… we would only correct each other in private. In front of others, we're a united team."
I can not help but raise a brow when she speaks those words.
"That's all your soon-to-be wife is asking. Do you agree?"
I stare down at her small hand, and then back up at her delicately beautiful face.
She has always been stubborn. Headstrong.
She can not help me. I know that. I can not get better. I know that, too. But she believes I can, even though I just told her I can't.
It's beautiful to see that hope. The hope I once had. But it hurt to watch beautiful things break. Like how I broke when reality hit me.
I can't lead her on like this. She's been bound to a marriage that's full of thorns, and I can not take her hand and act like this is some peaceful walk by a seashore.
