Mirelah;
"In private."
I raise a brow at him at the words, but his face is so devoid of emotions, I can't tell what he's thinking.
For him to have come here this late, it must be something important. I shut my eyes and let out a breath before looking over at Veylira, who is still glaring at Kealith.
"Vey?" I call, and she turns to me.
She understands what I'm asking, but she stares at me in silence for a few seconds.
She doesn't approve of Kealith. She believes he was aware that I was being sent through a Thryssa and did nothing to help. So, she thinks he's incompetent.
I don't think so, and for some reason, I'm not sure I care. All I know is that I need to stay here to attain my destiny.
To stay here, I have to marry him. What anyone thinks of him, or our relationship, isn't exactly my business. But I can't show the world how truly nonchalant I am about this whole thing.
"Please…" I add, and she sighs in frustration before taking her hand away from her sword.
