Derrick's POV
I didn't wait.
I had been in the room when I heard Nathan yelling for help. My instinct moved me before I even realized what was happening. I jumped out of the window, the glass shattering behind me. I had no time to try to process what was happening or even make a plan.
When I landed on my feet, I saw Nathan pinned to the ground and the bastard above him holding him down. My anger exploded, igniting my wolf to the surface. I changed faster than ever before.
One of them, a coward, took one look at me and immediately turned around and fled. He ran so fast, like he was running for his life — which he was.
He was smart.
The other one was more daring. He was the one above Nathan. He slowly stood upright, baring his teeth. He lunged at me, infused with confidence that had gone to his head, making him delusional enough to think he stood a chance against me.
