Once we were through the doors I collapsed. The pain was far away and I was left with a sickly high that still left me unsteady when I was laying on the floor.
"What happened?" Moose's voice boomed.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry," Bianca sobbed.
From the corner of my eye I could see her fall to her knees as she sobbed. Her body quivered. She kept repeating her remorse like a mantra as she shook.
"I need blood. Get Belle. Please."
Sparing a glance at Bianca Moose raced off to find Belle. In his absence I turned to Bianca. Her profuse apologies were now breathless whispers. My arm crossed over my torso for my fingers to rest atop her knee. The second I touched her she jolted, her body lurching backward and her eyes widening.
"This was my fault. I insisted on leaving," I said forcefully.
Her lip quivered. Her sheet white face broke my heart.
"Angela?" Belle called, her feet slapping against the floor, "Angela!"
