I was still mad at him. It only made me angrier when I looked at my tits or my neck. I was marked. Not only was I marked but I'd begged to be marked by him, to be defiled by him. He turned me into a breathless mess. Now here I was in his bed, my head rested against his chest and my hand caging in the slow drum of his heart. He was beautiful when he slept. Last night I'd chosen to let him hold me because I was too weak to stand. Now all I had was the hypnotic song emanating from his chest and the beauty before me.
I gathered my strength and I stood. I marched into the shower, turning the water on as hot as it would go after putting up the little flag to tell Layla I was bathing.
Stepping out of the shower and wrapping a towel around myself I turned and almost jumped out of my skin. I managed not to scream, remembering that Layla slept just above me. I took down the flag and walked back into the bedroom shutting the door behind me.
