But that wasn't what bothered her at all. People were looking for her, and she needed to hide before they found her.
With a grunt, Valeska quickly pushed herself to her feet and tried to hide. She scanned the path, and luckily, there were doors on each side. She tried opening one, but it didn't budge. She limped to the next one, but it didn't work either. Hissing under her breath, she took off her heels—heels she had been walking in the entire time—that now made her legs ache due to the fall, and tried opening another door.
Thankfully, it opened, and she slipped inside. However, she wasn't quick enough; the door slammed shut with a bang.
"What was that?" Draven stiffened. "I heard something just now."
Natasha narrowed her eyes at the dimly lit hallway, where the smoke had begun to seep in even more, blurring their visibility.
"Someone's here," she concluded.
